Sharon Osbourne's final 'gift' to Ozzy after he made emotional admission about mental health

Ozzy sadly passed away in July

Sharon Osbourne had a final 'gift' to husband Ozzy Osbourne before he passed away.

Ozzy died in July aged 76 at his UK estate after living with Parkinson's disease in the latter years of his life.

He was best known for being the frontman of Black Sabbath - a heavy metal rock band that many say defined the genre during its heyday in the 1970s.

And just weeks before his death, Ozzy performed in his hometown of Birmingham with the band in the 'Back to the Beginning' farewell concert.

In a trailer for Ozzy's upcoming documentary, Ozzy: No Escape from Now, it is revealed that the gig was a gift from Sharon.

"What do you think, we do a big farewell show?" Sharon asks him, while Ozzy says: "I want to say to my fans, thank you for the years."

Billy Corgan adds: "This is Sharon's gift to Ozzy. You deserve this."

The Brummie raised a whopping $190 million for charity from the gig, with the profits being equally split between Birmingham Children's Hospital, Cure Parkinson's and Acorns Children's Hospice.

As he performed in front of a crowd of 40,000+ fans, Ozzy said: "You've no idea how I feel - thank you from the bottom of my heart."

While Ozzy may have been surprised by the reception he received at his farewell gig, such a reaction from the crowd didn't surprise Sharon, who said: "Oh my God, the metal fans are the most loyal fans in the world! When they’re a fan, you’ve got them for life. They don’t go anywhere.

"It was a huge success, because it was a phenomenal event. It was the first time, I think, that anybody’s gone into retirement and done it, where the show is streamed and it goes to charity. So it’s the first time anybody has said goodnight like that, it’s the perfect way, when you’ve had such a long career, to end it."

The documentary delves into Ozzy's struggles with his mental health, with Sharon explaining in the trailer: "At that time, the depression was so bad. [He'd] be like what's the point in even getting up? I'm not getting up. I'm not working with the physiotherapist. What's the point?"

Ozzy also spoke about recording a track, Take What You Want, which was recorded with Post Malone, in 2019.

"It got me out of the blues. It helped me. That was the best medicine I ever had at that point," he said.

Ozzy's cause of death was ruled as a heart attack, with family announcing that he was surrounded by his loved ones until the end.
