Noah Schnapp and his friends make fun of him coming out as gay

Noah is too funny.

If Noah Schnapp coming out as gay is going to make massive headlines, you better believe he's going to be the first one to poke fun at it.

The Stranger Things star took to TikTok with his friends this week to make light of the fact that his coming out made global news.

In the video, Noah and his pals hopped on the trending 'fake celebrity deaths' prank that's been doing the rounds on TikTok since December and spun it on its head. Check it out here:

The prank, which took off while TikTok users were at home with their families for the Christmas break, involves users running up to their relatives in a panic and informing them that their favourite celebrity has just died.

"Dad, dad! Bon Jovi dead at 60!" one girl alerted her father. Clearly emotional over the news, her dad replies: "If you're f***ing lying, you're not getting anything for Christmas", after which, his daughter breaks out in a fit of laughter.

Others fake celebrity deaths have included Dave Matthews, Kate Winslet, John Travolta and Celine Dion, leaving parents everywhere in a heap before they realise their darling child is making fun of them for internet fame.

Not one to miss out on a TikTok trend, Noah decided to get involved in the trend by filming his own version of it with his friends.

The video starts with one guy reading his phone before calling out to his friends: "Oh my God, guys, guys, guys! Noah Schnapp gay at 18!"

The camera then spans across the couch to catch everyone's exaggerated reactions, finally landing on Noah himself with his hands on his head as he yells. 'Oh my God!'

Noah came out to fans on 5 January via a TikTok video, recounting the time he finally told his loved ones that he was gay.

The nine second clip appeared with a text overlay that read: "When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was 'we know'."

Adding a sensational Stranger Things reference to the caption, he wrote: "I guess I'm more similar to Will than I thought."

Of course, on the hit Netflix show, Noah plays Will Byers, who was the first of the Hawkins kids to experience the wrath of The Upside Down in season one.

In the most recent season, it was revealed by Noah that Will is gay and has feelings for his best friend Mike Wheeler - who just so happens to be dating the telekinetic Eleven.

Here's hoping that the fifth and final season will see Will figure out how to live his truth like Noah - though by the looks of that season four finale, he might have some bigger fish to fry.
