Nicola Peltz and her family sued by wedding planners

The planners of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's wedding have sued the Peltz family for breach of contract

Almost a year after Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham tied the knot there is some serious legal wrangling going on over the planning of their wedding.

Eight months after the wedding took place, Peltz's father Nelson filed a lawsuit against wedding planners Nicola Braghin and Arianna Grijalba claiming they refused to repay the $159,000 deposit he put down with them.

The lawsuit, filed in December, claims that the wedding planning pair told the Peltz family to hire another wedding planner after working on the Beckham/Peltz wedding for just nine days.

In the course of planning the event new wedding planners were hired three times, and the pair were brought in with six weeks to go before the big day to replace Preston Bailey who pulled out saying he was 'overcommitted'.

Over 500 guests were in attendance, including a whole host of famous faces including celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and ex-Spice Girls Mel B and Mel C.

The lawsuit from Nelson Peltz alleges that 'regarding their experience, expertise and capability of planning the wedding', Braghin and Grijalba overstated their abilities.

In response, the wedding planners filed a lawsuit of their own against Nelson, Nicola, her mother Claudia and an individual named Rishi Patel asking for $50,000 worth of damages while accusing the Peltz family of making demands with short notice.

They claimed they worked 17-hour days to put everything together, citing a breach of contract in their lawsuit which contained a string of text messages claiming to be from a group chat about the wedding.

Their lawsuit claimed that Nelson wanted to cancel the wedding and called the event a 's**t show' but was convinced not to by his wife over fears it would 'destroy Nicola's career'.

It alleges that the bride spent $100,000 on hair and makeup and that the Peltz family was afraid Victoria Beckham would find out about 'mistakes' in the planning of the wedding.

Representatives for Nelson told the Daily Mail that the wedding planners' lawsuit was 'replete with inaccuracies' and had 'no merit'.

Beckham and Peltz announced their engagement back in 2020, posting pictures to Instagram of them kissing with engagement rings visible.

It was described by Victoria Beckham as 'the most exciting news' and the smitten-looking couple continued to pay tribute to each other on social media.

Brooklyn has had several tattoos in tribute to his wife, including a message written to him from Nicola.

UNILAD has contacted Nicola Braghin and Arianna Grijalba for comment.
