A TikToker held back tears as she explained how her dream home turned into a horror house poisoning her family.

Finding your dream home is... well, a dream for people.

Your new abode will have the transport links you want, be in a great location, as many bedrooms and bathrooms as you need, and just be the perfect spot.

Well, it might seem like that at first, but things can very easily go wrong.

From being swallowed up by a sinkhole to building a million-dollar home without you even knowing, owning property is no picnic.

In fact, one influencer could hardly contain her sorrow as she explained to her followers that her dream house had essentially 'ruined her life'.

Brittney Necole, who regularly uploads to her Tiktok channel, said she now had to regularly go for walks because she couldn’t stay in her own home for too long.

She also revealed she wasn’t even sleeping in her bedroom anymore, instead opting for the couch.

“About a year ago, a year and a half ago, I bought a brand-new house.

It’s like a dream home for me, and little did I know how it would ruin my life,” she explained in a teary video.

“This is not normally how I look or sound. I have been poisoned by my house.”

It's not just her suffering; Necole said her entire family had grown sick due to mold growing in the home.

She continued, and pointed the finger at the builders for allegedly shoddy work.

She said: “My house has mold in it,” she said. “I’m so sick here. And I’m stuck in this house. I have almost a 9% mortgage rate and $3,000 of my mortgage goes to interest every month.”

“They forgot to put the vapor wrap or the barrier wrap in it.

“My AC was installed wrong—it’s an oversized unit with exposed holes everywhere. My whole house was built with moldy lumber.

“My throat hurts every day, I have the most insane symptoms from the mold exposure,” she said.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, common symptoms of mold include 'sneezing, coughing, congestion and eye irritation'.

While it's said to 'rarely causes serious illness or death', it can make certain respiratory conditions such as asthma worse.

Necole warned her followers not to rush to buy a property, and said prospective buyers should watch the process of their new builds to avoid issues.

She closed the video by stating she intends to take legal action, and if her claims are to be believed, she might just even win.
