The death of Victoria Jones, Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter, has officially been ruled a ‘accident’ after a medical examiner revealed she died of ‘toxic effects of cocaine.’
The 34-year-old was discovered at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco on Thursday January 1 after suffering a medical emergency.
Dispatch audio for the emergency, which was obtained by People at the time, revealed it was classified as a ‘Code 3 for the overdose, colour change’.
This specific categorisation is a reference to when overdose victims often turn blue or purple, due to a condition called cyanosis, which is when they are not receiving enough oxygen.

According to the San Francisco Fire Department, paramedics responded to a call at the hotel’s address at around 2:52am, and upon arriving at the scene alongside paramedics, they discovered a deceased individual.

Despite the best efforts of emergency personnel and bystanders who performed CPR, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the death, the case was passed to the San Francisco Police Department and Medical Examiner, however initial reports suggested no foul play was involved in the tragic death.
This still appears to be the case, with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in San Francisco announcing on Tuesday February 17, that the death was due to ‘toxic effects of cocaine’, before declaring it an ‘accident.’
Following Victoria’s death at the start of the year, Academy Award winning actor Tommy Lee Jones released the following statement via his agent: ”We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”

Victoria was the daughter of Tommy and his ex-wife, Kimberlea Cloughley, who also share a son, Austin Jones, 43.
Born in 1991, Victoria was bitten by the acting bug at an early age and even followed in her famous dad’s footsteps, acting alongside him in Men in Black II.
Keen to branch out on her own, she also later starred in a handful of other productions, including One Tree Hill and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.
Despite her success, however, in recent years Victoria sought to step away from the spotlight and instead often only appeared to support her father at red carpet events.
She also found herself in trouble with the law, and was arrested at least two times in the year prior to her death, including an arrest for drug possession.
