Tom Hanks’ son Chet Hanks has issued a plea to social media users, as he claims he is stuck in Colombia, with no way home.
The 35-year-old model and actor shared a video on Friday (27 February), where he asked his followers if they were 'ready for story time’ before diving into the crazy details that has brought him to his disastrous situation.
He explained that he had traveled to Puerto Rico last week for his ‘home Max’s birthday party,’ but things took a turn when he decided to make a stop at Medellin to visit a friend of his named Taylor.
“Sounds good, right?” he asked, before hinting: “We’ll check this out.”

“I’m traveling with my Greek passport because I’m a dual citizen,” he said, noting his US passport was close to its expiration, which could lead to him not being accepted.
So, he decided to use his other passport to save the hassle.

However, that also proved to be an option that would cause more trouble.
People online were quick to respond to his predicament, with one writing in the comments: “Better call someone in your family to have them FedEx your passport to you ASAP.”
To this, another responded, referencing his father’s famous movie, Cast Away: “Tom Hanks doesn’t have the best of luck with FedEx.”
Chet continued: “I go to the airport to check in [for] my flight three hours early.
“This is an international flight. They tell me that if I’m using a foreign passport, I need a green card to get back into America.”
However, because he’s an ‘American citizen,’ he said he doesn’t have a Green Card, and is now 'literally stuck in Colombia. I’m stuck in Medellin.’
One person responded to this comment, writing: “Crying at I don’t have a green card cuz I’m an American citizen.”

This is probably because you aren’t exempt from getting a Green Card to access an international country if you’re from the US.
He went on to say there are ‘worse’ places to be stranded, but he has to travel to ‘Bogota’ to sort out his Green Card problem.
Chet went on to say he wants people to ‘free’ him as he isn’t interested in traveling one hour by air to Bogota.
One person suggested: “Go get a new passport in Bogota. And read up on traveling with dual passports so it doesn't happen again.”
Another said: “Or you can see this issue as an opportunity to know more about Colombia. You can visit Cali, Cartagena, Eje Cafetero before heading to Bogota!”
