A man who tracks Taylor Swift’s private jets online has hit back after receiving a ‘cease and desist’ letter from the megastar.

We all know that our carbon footprint is important, and that it can dictate the future of the planet. Heavy stuff. But nobody seems as zealous to carbon emissions than social media page, @taylorswiftjets.

As it may suggest, the account, run by student Jack Sweeney, is solely based on Swift and how many flights the star takes in her private jet.

But it seems Taylor has had enough.

The media has previously commented on Swift’s carbon emissions, something that she’s been heavily criticized for recently, and it seems the pop princess wants to clear things up, and to protect her safety, as publishing her whereabouts could be a potential danger to Swift.

The ‘All Too Well’ singer issued a ‘cease and desist’ letter to the owner of the account, with a legal letter sent to Jack saying: "We are aware of your public disputes with other high-profile individuals and your tactics in those interactions, including offering to stop your harmful behavior only in exchange for items of value.

"While this may be a game to you, or an avenue that you hope will earn you wealth or fame, it is a life-or-death matter for our Client. Ms. Swift has dealt with stalkers and other individuals who wish her harm."

For safety reasons the account has now been suspended on all platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.

In response to the cease and desist, Sweeney told The Mirror that the reason for constantly updating the page with the singer’s flight movements is ‘for the goal of transparency and public information relating to carbon emissions'.

He said: "It’s worth noting, as reported by WAPO, that this letter surfaced days after headlines criticised her jet use and its carbon emissions.

"A year prior, her team informed the media that her jet is seldom used by her and is often loaned out. These statements contradict each other, much like her team’s response to owning a single jet, which has only been true for the past two weeks."

Sweeney is still refusing to drop the subject of the singer’s carbon footprint, as he asked: "Why is her team not responding to my correspondence or anything regarding the points on the emissions?"

While Taylor seems to be his fixation, it seems fair to mention that Swift isn’t in the Top 30 of celebrities who used their jets the most last year, with Travis Scott coming in first, closely followed by Kim Kardashian.

Swift also purchased more than double the carbon credits needed to offset all of her travel, which includes the tour.

While the page seems targeted and the last thing you can imagine is this guy blasting ‘Folklore’ in his car, Jack assures us that he’s actually a fan of Taylor Swift. Admitting to The Mirror: “I'd like to clarify that my intentions are not to cause harm. In fact, I actually like some of Swift’s songs.”

UNILAD has reached out to Taylor's reps for comment.
