Sydney Sweeney has had to deal with a lot of backlash and criticism recently, and she has now addressed one issue that has been bugging her of late.
Sweeney was very much tight-lipped about her feelings during the American Eagle jeans debacle earlier this year, but on this constant beauty issue she faces, she is speaking her mind.
For those who have forgotten, Sweeney and American Eagle jeans divided viewers with an ad playing on the use of the word ‘genes’.
Some people went as far as to accuse it of supporting eugenics and white supremacy, and it wasn’t unitl months later that Sweeney gave a seemingly unsatisfactory response.

The Anyone But You actress insisted that she did not pay much attention to the massive debate that followed, and during a GQ interview, when given a chance to comment on the ad, she simply said: “I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear.”

However, Sweeney is seemingly being clearer and finally addressing, head on, the chatter that has followed her over the years regarding her image.
Sitting down with her The Housemaid co-star Amanda Seyfried, Sweeney denied the claims that she has had plastic surgery to get her iconic 'bombshell' look.
In an interview with Allure, the 28-year-old Sweeney said: “Let’s debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done.
“I am so scared of needles, you have no idea.”
She also took a shot at people on social media who attempt to bolster the claims of surgery by showing images of Sweeney when she was young versus how she looks now.

The actress continued: “You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting! Of course I'm going to look different.
“Everybody on social media’s insane."
Seyfried added that the star didn’t need it yet, but noted that some cosmetic procedures can be ‘really effective once you get older'.
Sweeney cut her off to note that if she should change her mind about getting cosmetic procedures done, she’ll give Seyfried a call about it.

Sweeney has previously spoken out about the comments she received when she was young and attempted to break into the film industry.
Back in October, during an interview with Variety, Sweeney spoke about going for an audition and being told, at the age of 16, to get work done.
Sweeney said: “I had someone tell me to fix my face or else I’m not going to make it. I should get Botox. I was 16!
"Or I’m in a casting and I’m reading my scene and the casting director is eating a bag of chips, and I’m like, 'You’re not paying attention at all'.”
