Seth Rogen has clarified why it's unlikely he and James Franco will ever work with each other again and what he thinks of the actor’s ‘20 great years together’ statement.

Former powerhouse duo Rogen, 42, and Franco, 46, have some stunning acting credits to their name, including the cult NBC series Freaks and Geeks, The Interview, and The Pineapple Express.

However, the pair haven’t starred in a project together since 2019’s Zeroville was released.

And you may be shocked to hear, but Rogen himself said there probably isn’t a future where their working relationship is concerned.

In 2018, Franco was accused of sexually inappropriate behavior by a slew of women, as well as four of his former acting pupils.

A year later, Storyville actress Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal filed a lawsuit, alleging Franco had engaged in 'sexually charged behaviour towards female students' at his now-defunct acting school.

Despite initially claiming the allegations were ‘not accurate’, it was reported the Spider-Man star agreed to pay $2.23 million to settle the lawsuit and for the individuals to drop their claims.

In the wake of the allegations, Rogen distanced himself from Franco, telling The Sunday Times’ Culture magazine that he ‘despises’ abuse and harassment.

“I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that,” the Pam & Tommy favorite said.

He also explained that the allegations against Franco had ‘changed many things in [their] relationship and [their] dynamic.'

Last year, Franco was asked whether he was still in contact with Rogen, to which he provided an answer in the negative.

“No. I haven’t talked to Seth. I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over," he told Variety.

"And not for lack of trying. I’ve told him how much he’s meant to me.

"Being told you’re bad is painful.

"But ultimately, that’s kind of what I needed to just stop going the way I was going."

In a new interview with Esquire, Rogen has said that comments made by Franco about their broken friendship weren’t initially on his ‘radar’.

“Honestly, I absorb so little media that it really wasn’t on my radar,” he claimed.

The publication stated Rogen was 'not surprised to get that question, and he’s clearly not happy about it'.

As a result of the previous allegations, Franco disappeared from Hollywood and made use of his free time.

He continued: "Whatever had been going on with me before, I had to change my whole way of life.

"So I am proud of the kind of work I did during that time. And yeah, I wasn’t working in movies, but I certainly was doing a lot of work to change who I was."

According to IMDB, Franco has eight upcoming projects, including Bruce Thierry Cheung’s Kill the Czar and a biopic about Fidel Castro’s exiled daughter, Alina Fernandez.

Meanwhile, in the last year, Rogen has achieved producer credits on the raunchy Miller’s Girl, starring Jenna Ortega, multiple episodes of The Boys, and more recently Amazon Prime Video’s Invincible.
