Sandra Bullock has revealed the one surprising career that she recommends everyone should go into, which she believes will set you up ‘to do anything’.

The 60-year-old has featured in a wide range of super successful films, including the likes of The Blind Side and The Lost City.

While Bullock has had an incredible career in Hollywood and often provides her tips and tricks for those looking at getting into the industry, the actor has spoken highly of a career people should pursue.

And if they do, it will set you up 'to do anything', according to Bullock.

The career in question is waitressing, which anyone who works - or has worked - in the sector of hospitality will admit is extremely hard graft.

Speaking on CBS' Sunday Morning programme earlier this year, Bullock said: "If you know how to navigate eight sets of six-top tables, the height of happy hour, drunk people, once you’ve accomplished that rhythm, I honestly feel you can do anything."

While the interview went out on CBS back in March, the discussion has appeared again once more after it was shared on Reddit.

"Forget conscription. Everyone needs to work in retail or customer facing roles for a year," one person wrote on Reddit.

A second added: "I’ve been saying!! Do a year of retail or hospitality for 1) character building and 2) maybe people will LEARN how to treat people who work retail and hospitality!!"

While a third remarked: "If everyone was forced to work a customer service/retail/food industry job, people as a whole would be WAY nicer."

As for Bullock, she has expressed in the past how pleased she was to be involved with The Lost City, though she did reveal on a promotional tour for the movie one flick she is 'still embarrassed' about to this day.

Bullock said: "You stumped me with the fans coming around later on (part of the question).

"I have one no one came around to and I’m still embarrassed I was in. It’s called Speed 2. (I’ve) been very vocal about it. Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island.”

The host said he liked the movie as a teenager, but Bullock insisted that he was very much in the minority.

"That’s one I wished I hadn’t done and no fans came around, that I know of, except for you, so I’m glad you enjoyed it," she added.
