Sandra Bullock has revealed the sneaky technique she used to help her get through naked scenes with Channing Tatum as they starred together in an action movie.

After decades in the industry, I'm sure Bullock has come up with all sorts of useful tips and tricks to making life as an actor a bit more manageable.

You'd probably expect her to have certain methods to help her memorize scripts and get into character, but did you expect the Miss Congeniality star to have a specific technique on how to deal with penises on camera?

I suppose it never helps to be prepared.

The actor opened up about her approach to penises - or more specifically, Tatum's penis - in an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where she sat down to talk about her 2022 comedy movie The Lost City.

Bullock revealed that Tatum's role in the movie shared some similarities to that of his hit series Magic Mike, because he spends a lot of the time 'stupid naked'.

However, rather than using camera trickery or other well known Hollywood techniques to protect Tatum's dignity, Bullock revealed that her co-star fully committed to shooting his scenes fully au naturale.

Colbert called attention to one particular scene in which Bullock's character is tasked with checking Tatum's body - particularly the private parts - for leeches, asking: "Was that CGI?"

Bullock explained: "No. [I’m] fully there. Full on face to face, with the, uh... landscape.

"I had to spend some time down there, just making sure no leeches, and I had a lot to say to it. When you’re down there, you may as well just get to know it."

Bullock went on to point out that she probably would have struggled to get through the scene if she'd stared directly at Tatum's manhood, so she came up with a technique to get through it.

"When you’re down there and you have two pages of dialogue, if you are looking directly at it, you will get nothing done. So I looked at his left thigh. I focused more on the left inner thigh," she explained.

The tactic obviously paid off, as Bullock managed to get through the scenes and complete the movie, which released to positive reviews.

The Lost City has a strong 83 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with viewers describing it as 'romantically hilarious'.

The Lost City is available to stream on Netflix.
