Sabrina Carpenter made a tongue-in-cheek comment in response to being asked if she has 'a personality outside of sex.'
The 26-year-old 'Espresso' hitmaker is no stranger to ruffling feathers, whether performing NSFW sex acts on stage across her Short n' Sweet world tour to teasing the drop of her next album which has a rather X-rated cover.
Sabrina has created a sort of tradition while performing her song 'Juno', which has seen her break into some specific positions before breaking into the chorus that asks: "Wanna try out some freaky positions? Have you ever tried this one?"

To name just a few, she dropped to her knees to create an oral sex scene while performing the song in Los Angeles, quite literally bent over backwards to replicate the London Bridge while on stage in England's capital, and reimagined the Eiffel Tower, with her crouched between two dancers, on the stage in France.

Critics at the time slammed the risqué routine as 'crass' and inappropriate for young eyes who may be watching in the audience.
And just this week, she landed in hot water again when she announced that her new album, Man’s Best Friend, will come out in August - not for the fact it will contain the banger 'Manchild', but for the cover artwork.

The image shows Sabrina kneeling on all fours and leaning towards what appears a man, fully clothed in an all-black suit, standing out of shot and pulling on her hair quite aggressively.
The sexually suggestive cover saw some brand it as 'weird' and even 'degrading' to women.
"So weird honestly no creative direction just men and sex," said one disgruntled fan, while another ranted: "Why would Sabrina Carpenter choose such an image for her album cover? It’s so degrading and sends such an irresponsible message to her young fanbase!”
Now, another fan's scathing criticism of the album cover has caught the eye of the star herself, who hit back with a sharp response.

"Does she have a personality outside of sex?", the critic said on Twitter while sharing the controversial image.
Sabrina then hit back with: "girl yes and it is goooooood."
In response, the fan doubled down, writing: "Idk who actually is her fan base cuz we normal people are tired of the hypersexualisation."
Dozens appeared to agree with her too, as even more clocked the album's title, Man's Best Friend, alongside the image of a dog with dog collar on the album cover also appeared 'distasteful.'

Despite the obvious double entendre of the album's title and connection between that and Carpenter posing on all fours like a dog, some fans had to jump to the defense of the singer by explaining that there could be a hidden meaning behind the photographs.

“I’m seeing a lot of discourse about Sabrina Carpenter’s new album cover… for those of you who may lack critical thinking skills, the cover is clearly satirical with a deeper meaning, portraying how the public views her, believing she is just for the male gaze," one said.
Another chimed that she has 'capitalized' on her star status 'while it's still burning its brightest with an album cover designed to keep the discourse going all summer long until its release.'

Indeed, fans and critics alike are counting down the days to when the album - set to be released on August 29 - will drop.
