Man stunned after realizing Rihanna paid him $500,000 to move out of his own home for a week

The five bedroom home was located in Paradise Valley

Would you give up your home for a week for Rihanna to stay in alongside a staggering half-a-million being popped into your account?

Well, one man didn't have to imagine what he'd do because when Rihanna needed somewhere to stay during the week she took to the stage at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show, a local Arizonian's property caught her eye.

The 'Diamonds' singer's performance was an astounding success, achieving five million more views than the actual game of sport itself.

While Rihanna - full name Robyn Rihanna Fenty - didn't get paid a penny for the performance, that doesn't mean she didn't still splash the cash to find somewhere suitable to prepare herself for her big moment on stage.

And as luck would have it, cybersecurity Spyro Malaspinas had a 6,400-square-foot, five bedroom home in Paradise Valley which he bought for a whopping $7.3 million back in 2022.

The house, located between Phoenix and Scottsdale, was the perfect distance from the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, with Rihanna able to get to and from the venue within a 30-minute drive.

In the build-up to the 2023 Super Bowl in February, Malaspinas was approached by a property management firm he'd actually already worked with.

They offered him a staggering $500,000 to rent his home out in the week of Super Bowl LVII and despite being slightly hesitant at first, he agreed - who could ever really refuse half-a-mil for one week away from home? I mean, it's being paid the cost of a house to force yourself to go on holiday.

He told the Wall Street Journal: "The last thing I am is a real estate baron.

"My pride’s not that big. I don’t mind moving out for $500,000 a week."

And the figure was enough to cover his mortgage payments for a solid two years.

Malaspinas wasn't initially told the property was going to be used as a crash pad for Rihanna across the week of the Super Bowl and it wasn't until he agreed to the lease he found out.

He reflected: "My daughter was absolutely thrilled."

And Malaspinas' daughter was probably equally thrilled by Rihanna's Super Bowl performance, which saw the star not only perform her top hits, but also reveal news of her second pregnancy.

She has since given birth to a baby boy who she shares with partner A$AP Rocky.
