Prince Harry has revealed what he thinks of the level of scrutiny on him and Meghan Markle amid recent divorce rumors.

The member of the royal family took to the stage at The New York Times' 2024 DealBook Summit on December 4, and was quizzed about how he handles speculation about his relationship with Suits actor Meghan Markle, who he married back in 2018.

NYT columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin told Prince Harry when he 'Google News-ed' him, he found there are 'people fascinated by everything' he's doing 'all the time'.

"They're fascinated by Meghan is in California right now, and you're here," he continued. "And there's articles left and right about, you know, 'Why are you making, doing independent events? Why aren't you doing them together?'"

Sorkin questioned whether this level of scrutiny is 'normal' for the prince, noting a recent article pointed out how Markle is in California while he's in New York, questioning whether the pair have split up.

Sorkin added: "Is that a good thing for you, in a way, that there's so much interest in you?"

And Prince Harry didn't shy away from diving right into what he thinks of the level of attention he and his family receive.

Noting it's 'definitely not a good thing' how much coverage is generated surrounding him and Markle, Prince Harry continued: "Apparently we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?"

However, being at the center of stories in the press isn't something Prince Harry isn't used to, the royal family member reflecting he's 'had a live experience' of it 'since [he] was a kid'.

"I’ve seen stories written about myself that aren’t exactly based on reality. I’ve seen stories about members of my family, friends, strangers, all sorts of people," he continued.

"And I think when you grow up within that environment, you do find yourself questioning the validity of the information but also what other people are thinking of that as well, and how dangerous it can be over the course of time."

And his response to the people who write such stories?

Prince Harry resolved: "It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls.

"Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."
