Michael B. Jordan has defended Jonathan Majors after his assault conviction.

The actor, who has worked with Majors on Creed 3, which was released just weeks before allegations were made in 2023.

According to reports, Majors was arrested in March 2023 in New York City after he was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in the backseat of a private vehicle.

Jabbari met Majors on the set of Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, testified at a later date that the pair were in the vehicle and she went on to grab Majors’ mobile phone after she spotted a text message from another woman on the screen.

The 30-year-old choreographer then went on to describe how Majors tried to take the phone back from her and she felt ‘a hard blow’ across her head during the confrontation, which led to her sustaining swelling and bruising.

The actor was then sentenced in April 2024 to one year of domestic violence counseling, with Marvel firing him from his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after he was convicted in December 2024.

At the time, a jury found Majors guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault, but acquitted him on two counts of intentional assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree.

At the time, Majors had landed a six-figure deal for the Sundance drama which Searchlight Pictures purchased.

But Magazine Dreams was dropped after his charges came to light.

However, an update on the film sees it getting a theatrical release from Briarcliff Entertainment on March 21.

As Majors’ crime impacted his career, there is one person who has stood beside him, which has shocked much of the public.

Jordan recently told GQ magazine that he still open to working with Majors again, even after his assault and that it was a ‘tough situation’ to watch happen to his friend.

For those of you who don’t know, Jordan directed Majors in Creed 3, which starred Majors as the boxer Damian Anderson in the fighting flick.

Majors and Jordan earned a lot of praise for the film, which was Jordan’s directorial debut which grossed $276 million at the box office.

The pair are pretty close friends, and Jordan is sticking by him despite the controversy.

He told GQ that Majors has come through the situation and things are looking up.

He said: “But he’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”

Then, when he was asked if he would work with Majors again, he answered: “Yes. Yes.”

Online, people were largely annoyed by this, claiming that Jordan ‘left him for dead’ first, but others were also supportive of his defence.

Someone wrote on X: “Conveniently saying this after Majors finally got a role is interesting.”

Another said: “I'm sure his girlfriend appreciated his ‘resilience and strength’ when he allegedly tried to strangle her.”
