MGK gives rare insight to 'toxic' Megan Fox relationship

Machine Gun Kelly opened up about his relationship with Megan Fox, which ended just weeks after announcing they were expecting a baby

Machine Gun Kelly has given fans a rare insight into his intense, and at times ‘toxic’, relationship with Megan Fox, admitting that their love story has been as painful as it has been powerful.

Appearing on Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde Podcast, the musician - real name Colson Baker - opened up about how his ex Transformers fiancée pushed him to confront parts of himself he’d long avoided.

Their roller coaster relationship ended the same month the pair announced to the world that they were expecting their first child together - and the 39-year-old actor's fourth, in November 2024.

Fox gave birth to Saga Blade Fox-Baker in March this year - MGK's second child.

“When you have a twin flame relationship, you’re essentially looking at a mirror at all of the things that you’ve run away from your whole life,” he said. "It’s not this grand waltz of love and gentility.

"It’s really, really dark at first - and it’s toxic."

As for why their relationship was toxic, he continued with an analogy Daniel Radcliffe would be proud of.

"Do you watch Harry Potter? Well, remember that mirror where he could look in and he could see his parents and all that stuff? It's like looking at that, but instead you're seeing all of the things that you've ran away from this whole time," he explained.

"And all the things that those have numbed. And the music and successes have numbed and you're forced to either look away and lose, or face and embrace.

"That is the endless waltz that we are constantly in with each other."

The 34-year-old went on to explain that meeting Fox changed how he experienced life altogether.

"When I saw her eyes for the first time, it was like I had a telescope to every secret in the universe,” MGK continued.

As for why they split up, the rapper explained that his heart wasn't in the right place.

He told Bonnie Xo: "I was leading into how powerful the heart is because you can play with every other sense that you have in your body, but if your heart isn't there...

"It's like this example of, you know, being an an archer and you can be so technically skilled and all of these - your precision could be perfect, right?

"And all that stuff - but if you switch to an uncomfortable place like a shaky bridge; if you're not shooting from your soul then all that precision all the technicalities that you've mastered like - nothing beats a shot from a soul."
