Logan Paul has revealed why he’s no longer telling people about the collector’s items he buys after explaining that it only backfires.

The eldest Paul brother, who has been in the spotlight since his YouTube vlogging days, has made a living off of social media and market trends – like the Pokémon card buzz, streaming videos, and showing people his lavish lifestyle.

But he made history after selling one of only 39-made Pikachu Illustrator cards on February 16, breaking records in the process.

Paul had bought the card in July 2021 for $5 million, and when bidding concluded, his whopping $15 million plus sale got him a Guinness World Record for the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold at auction.

The card had been graded and reached level 10, which is in perfect condition.

After 41 days of bidding at the auction house, Goldin, Paul managed to sell it for $16.492 million.

But even after his success, he’s decided to stop telling people about the cards he buys, and it kind of makes sense.

Speaking out now, Paul revealed on The Iced Coffee Hour podcast that he has learned his lesson.

The Youtuber-turned-wrestler said: “5 years ago I was very vocal about collecting Pokémon, then I realized something…”

He explained: “If I’m vocal about something and a market spikes and I want more of it, I’ve essentially just bid against myself because now everyone’s charging 1.5-2x of what they were charging cause I told the story about it.

“So now I’ve been collecting in silence, because I’m well aware if I tell you I love dinosaurs and, like, I’ve spent $1,000,000 on dinosaurs, I’m gonna have to spend $2,000,000 to get the f****** same thing.”

People online had mixed feelings about this, as they claim his Pokémon card caused prices to go up, and that his inclusion in the buying and selling memorabilia game has made it more about money than a love for the items.

Some also thought it was odd that adults are into these things, when they were created for kids.

A commenter said: lol great pokemon is being discussed , I mean 90s kids are the gen who played it, the excitement as an adult is still there but then i have to remind myself im a grown man lol.”

But then others were thankful to hear his opinions, with one person writing under the uploaded podcast video: “Logan spitting wisdom here! Be consistent, focused, disciplined and HAPPY!!!”

So, people have differing opinions here.
