Liza Koshy falls over on the Oscars red carpet

Liza Koshy falls over on the Oscars red carpet

The actor took a tumble on the red carpet while wearing an enormous pair of 8-inch platform heels

Liza Koshy has drawn attention on the red carpet at this year's Oscars after she took a tumble.

The actor had been on the red carpet at the Oscars in a pair of eight-inch platform heels when she tumbled to the floor.

Despite heading straight to the ground, the 27-year-old star of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts kept her composure and laughed off the gaffe as she got back to her feet.

And in a pair of eight-inch platforms, you have to cut someone a bit of slack as walking in those is no mean feat.

The star was wearing a stunning red gown with a long train behind, and had been making her way along the carpet when she fell.

People quickly took to social media, where the moment quickly went viral.

One wrote: "Omg… poor Liza I feel so bad for her."

Another posted: "I hope she's okay! Tripping can happen to anyone, but I'm sure she handled it with grace."

A third pointed out that the shoes were not the most practical, writing: "Wear shoes you can walk in lady!"

People surrounding her rushed to help as she laughed off the tumble, before getting back to her feet.

As she continued on, she was accompanied by others to make sure that she didn't fall a second time.

Koshy began her career on Vine in 2013 before pivoting successfully to become a Hollywood actress.

She is now set to star in upcoming Netflix project Family Affair alongside Nicole Kidman, Kathy Bates, and Zac Efron, and My Ex-Friend's Wedding alongside Amanda Seyfried, Ariana DeBose, Chloe Fineman, and Megan Statler.
