Kristin Davis claims a 'very successful' actor actually 'ghosted' her after she lent him money.

Davis, otherwise known as Charlotte York for Sex and the City fans, has given some interesting insight into her dating life.

The 59-year-old movie star from Colorado has been taking us on a trip down memory lane in her new podcast, Are You a Charlotte? as she reminisces how her life changed forever when she joined the SATC cast as a key member to Carrie Bradshaw's (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) New York crew in 1997.

The mom-of-two went on to feature with her co-stars, Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes), and of course, Parker, in two movies and its revival sequel series, And Just Like That..., which initially released on HBO Max in 2022.

The podcast digs up the dirt on some behind-the-scenes drama and untold stories while discussing some hot topics from the noughties that are 'still so relevant today', the bio on Apple's podcast listing reads.

And already it has caused a stir as Davis revealed to her guest, Sarah Wynter, on the Monday (January 20) episode that she once ended up lending an actor a hefty sum of money - and then he disappeared.

The actress explained he was 'an out-of-work actor' who she'd been dating before she stepped foot on the SATC set and had lent him 'all of $5,000' after seeing notices around his home that hinted he was in financial difficulty, such as letters threatening to turn his electric off.

Davis said he had also 'wrecked his motorcycle' which meant he struggled to get to auditions.

"I was like, ‘Can I lend you some money?’” she said. "Horrible mistake. Anyone listening, do not lend anyone money that you are dating. It doesn’t end well. It really irked me."

At the time, she said she felt bad for the now 'very successful' man but her sympathy ran dry when he ran off with the money and ghosted her, reports Toofab.

She said: "He was very talented, but, at the time, I had money because I'd been working.

"It changed the dynamic in a horrible way … but I probably should have known better. So I lent him this money and then, you know, he stops calling. So I'm like, 'What the heck?'"

The Emmy and Golden Globes nominee said she did try to confront him but he didn't answer the door.

Davis continued: "I remember going over to his apartment and banging on the door. And his dog was in there, and I loved his dog, and I could hear his dog. But I was like, 'Is he in there and pretending that he is not in there?'"

Afterwards, she said he did call her later as he asked if she was the person hammering down his door and confirmed he was home at the time, but David said she 'felt so embarrassed, like I was being messy' and dropped it.

She was tight-lipped about revealing his identity, even after all this time, and said he merely lives 'out in the country' with his family and children.

But the moral of the story?

"Do not do it", Davis said to her listeners, "It doesn't end well."
