If you have been loving every minute of the Sex and the City reboot then your prayers have been answered.

And Just Like That has been renewed for a third season.

Max hasn't yet revealed when we can expect to see the third season hit the small screen so we'll have to wait and see for more updates.

In a statement, showrunner Michael Patrick King said: "We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors.

"And Just Like That… here comes season three."

The show follows Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they navigate life and love in New York City.

Things have changed a little since the Sex and the City days, however the fashion, passion and complicated web of love still remains.

The third season news comes as fans are gearing up for the second instalment's finale this week and we'll finally get to feast our eyes and ears on that Samantha Jones cameo.

It was revealed earlier this year in May that Kim Cattrall's legendary character would be making her big debut to the show.

While she was a star in Sex and the City, she was noticeably absent from the And Just Like That lineup when it was first announced.

It's no secret that Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker had their off-screen issues and fans were devastated that they couldn't patch things up and get Samantha on the reboot.

Carrie Bradshaw explained in the show's first episode that Ms Jones had hightailed it to London and that's why she wasn't going to be making an appearance.

However, we'll finally be getting that moment on Thursday's (August 24) finale.

Variety reports Samantha will return for one scene in the wake of the season one cliffhanger that saw Carrie Bradshaw text her former friend with the pair agreeing to reconcile.

As per the outlet's sources, Cattrall shot her scene on March 22 in New York.

The 66-year-old actor filmed her lines without seeing or speaking with her former co-stars of Sex and the City.

"The fact that they’re keeping it very hush-hush says that there’s some implication that she might be coming back — not this season, but it’s definitely a cliffhanger that’s gonna get people to come back for season three," an insider told The New York Post of Cattrall’s cameo.

Only time will tell.
