Keanu Reeves admits he's been married to Winona Ryder for almost 30 years

When you get married, you tend to know it’s happened. But that’s not the case for this beloved actor who has admitted who suggested he accidentally tied the knot three decades ago.

Actors tend to go through a lot for a role, from full-body transformations to intensive dialect training, but marrying someone? Well, that doesn’t usually happen.

However, everyone’s favourite good guy, Keanu Reeves has hinted he might actually have been married to Winona Ryder for the past 30 years thanks to a movie they did together.

The John Wick star is often thought of as the nicest man in Hollywood, and pair that with the gothic dream that is Ryder, you’ve got a match made in heaven.

So, how did they end up possibly married?

Both have gone on to disclose a chance moment in the film Bram Stoker's Dracula back in 1992 which might have legally tied the two together.

According to Reeves, the film, which was directed by the renowned Francis Ford Coppola, saw the pair get married in one scene, but apparently it wasn’t just for show.

Explaining how this could have happened to Esquire, Reeves said: “We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests.

“Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So, I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.”

Ironically, Ryder has already spoken about this incident before, when the pair were making a film together in 2018 named Destination Wedding.

She told Entertainment Weekly: “We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest.

“We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we’re married.”

The duo have worked together on numerous projects, from Dracula to Destination Wedding, as well as A Scanner Darkly and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.

It’s nice to know they weren’t exactly strangers when they married, that would have been awkward.

There’s also the case of the infamous ‘big, healthy’ crushes on one another over the years which sent fans into a frenzy.

But it wasn’t to be as both have been in relationships throughout the years.

Ryder had her public relationship with Johnny Depp, who she was with during the Dracula days, as well with Scott Mackinlay-Hahn from 2011 until now.

Reeves had a long-standing relationship with Jennifer Syme which ended in tragedy after they lost a child at birth before Syme died in a car crash in 2001.

Now, it appears that Reeves has finally found someone to share his life with and has been in a relationship with visual artist Alexandra Grant since 2018.

However, neither Reeves nor Ryder have married anyone else, which is a good thing because it would be an awkward way to find out you’re already married when attempting to plan your current wedding.

So maybe they really have been married by accident all these years?
