Keanu Reeves' relationship with Alexandra Grant praised for being 'age appropriate'

Keanu Reeves has been praised for his ‘age appropriate’ relationship with girlfriend Alexandra Grant after the pair were seen smooching on the red carpet at a recent event.

Reeves, 58, turned up with Grant, a visual artist, to the Museum of Contemporary Art Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday (15 April), where photographers snapped the happy couple sharing a kiss.

The pair first went public with their relationship in 2019, but have been relatively low key since then, with Reeves only occasionally discussing their romance.

Fans have praised the actor for dating someone ‘age appropriate’ with 50-year-old Grant, bucking the trend with many other Hollywood A-listers - including Leonardo DiCaprio, 48, who is notorious for preferring women in their early and mid twenties.

One tweeted: “The fact that Keanu Reeves has himself a mature woman who is about more than age appropriate and in all her grey hair glory, and she’s smart and well spoken… great men who still love a woman for what’s in their brain still exist. Hot men at that!”

Another agreed: “Keanu Reeves has an age appropriate partner who has grey hair. Such a lovely change from seeing men going out with women young enough to be their daughters. Absolutely love him and wish them both joy.”

But others said it should speak more about the other celebs who choose to be with people much younger than they are.

One person said: "I find it very telling how people freaked out and praised Keanu Reeves for dating a woman HIS AGE as if that’s not the normal and appropriate thing to do. We are so used to men being attracted to women border-lining teenagers in age, it’s f***ing sick."

While Reeves tends to remain fairly private about his personal life, in a recent interview with People, he couldn't help but gush about Grant, describing a 'blissful' moment with his 'honey'.

When asked about his last moment of bliss, he replied: "A couple of days ago with my honey.

"We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together."

Just when you thought he couldn't get more wholesome, eh?

Reeves went on to share a number of tidbits about his life, including the last time he saw a sunset.

"I was recently traveling in Japan and had some wonderful jet lag and got to see the sun rising in Kyoto," he said.

"Those are always cool. You have to stop, like, 'Aren't we glad to be here?'"
