JK Rowling has appeared to applaud a parody clip of the Harry Potter actress amid speculation of a feud between the pair.

In case you've been living under a rock, the Harry Potter author has struck a bit of a nerve with her comments about the transgender community in the last few years.

JK Rowling first landed in hot water when she took issue with an article that referred to women as 'people who menstruate' back in 2020.

Most recently, the British author celebrated the UK Supreme Court's decision that defines a woman based on biological sex.

The consequence of the ruling restricts those who are not born biologically female from being legally recognised as such after changing gender with a Gender Recognition Certificate, or being protected under the Equality Act 2010.

The Harry Potter film alum, including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, all spoke out in support of trans people and appeared to distance themselves from the author.

Amid the suspected fallout, the author said she would 'never forgive' the actors for having 'cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women's hard-won rights.'

Now, Watson has spoken out about the feud five years later, appearing on Jay Shetty's podcast, stating that while she doesn't agree with Rowling's views, that doesn't mean she doesn't 'treasure' her.

The actress, 35, said she would be open to talking with Rowling again.

The interview soon went viral and has apparently been the subject of some tongue-in-cheek criticism, one of which has caught the attention of the 60-year-old novelist herself.

In the parody, comedian IntelLady appeared to poke fun at Watson's British accent and her stance on trans people.

The comedian said in part while mocking Watson: "I will never forget the opportunity that she gave me. I will forever be grateful, she changed the entire trajectory of my life and I'll never forget that. It's such a privilege, it truly truly is."

The parody continued: "But also I stand shoulder to shoulder with those who would wish harm on her, hate her and would wish the absolute worst for her in her life, but those seemingly incompatible, those two things can exist at the same time."

In response to the almost two-minute-long clip, Rowling wrote on Twitter: "I'm already missing @intel_lady's Angela Rayner, but I'm here for ALL the spoofs," along with a laughing emoji.

The apparent mock comes as Watson said in the podcast: "I really don’t believe that by having had that experience and holding the love and support and views that I have, mean that I can’t and don’t treasure Jo and the person that I had personal experiences with.

"I will never believe that one negates the other and that my experience of that person, I don’t get to keep and cherish.

"To come back to our earlier thing – I just don’t think these things are either/or."

She added: "I think it’s my deepest wish that I hope people who don’t agree with my opinion will love me, and I hope I can keep loving people who I don’t necessarily share the same opinion with."
