Jennifer Lawrence has explained why she prefers filming sex scenes with actors she's never met before.
Sex scenes have long been a sticking point when filming a movie or TV show, with many people having a different take on what is and isn't good practice.
It's not without good reason - in the vast majority of jobs, grinding on a colleague would quite rightly land you a visit to HR, but with acting, sometimes this is literally what the job requires.
Intimacy co-ordinators are a more recent addition, professionals whose job is to help people set boundaries and make sure that everyone is comfortable.

They can also help to protect someone from being pressured to do something they're not comfortable with, which is a particular problem for someone just starting out.
Lawrence has been an A-lister for some time now, including filming several NSFW scenes, and explained one thing that she prefers when it comes to this tricky part of being an actor.

This is that she would rather film a sex scene with a complete stranger, as it is less awkward for her than doing it with someone who is a close friend.

Speaking to PEOPLE about filming with Robert Pattinson, she said: “It was actually easier that way, because Rob and I did not know each other. Which is kind of better, you know?
“Imagine it! So yeah, doing it with a stranger is preferable."

The Hunger Games star recalled filming a particularly odd scene in her latest project with Pattinson, Die My Love.

“It was these actors, and they’re attacking each other like tigers," she said, "and we were like, ‘OK, yeah,’ and she was like, ‘Can you do it naked, yeah?’ [imitating Ramsay’s Scottish accent]. We were like, ‘Oh, OK,’ and that was the first day on set.”
That's quite a first day on the job!
Lawrence previously had to film a kiss scene with her co-star Josh Hutcherson, which she described as 'weirder' as they are friends.
The 35-year-old actor explained that she often gets 'anxiety' before filming a new movie, and doing the more difficult scenes with a new partner first to get them out of the way helps with that.
