Fans of Jennifer Lawrence have rushed to defend the star over her outfit of choice at the 2026 Golden Globes.
While the Golden Globes are meant to be all about the awards, there's no doubt the red carpet prior to the accolades being handed out takes a lot of the limelight.
Viewers at home eagerly watch on as some of the biggest names in showbiz take the walk wearing some of the most outlandish outfits out there.
Lawrence is one of those to have taken the limelight this year, as she donned a 'naked dress' - similar to what Beyoncé wore at the 2015 Oscars.

The Hunger Games star wore a see-through dress designed by Givenchy’s Sarah Burton, which took a style of its own after being embroidered with pink, ivory, and green flowers.

While the outfit certainly turned some heads, many fans flocked to social media to defend Lawrence amid criticism.
One person on X penned: "The only acceptable return of the naked dress. Classy and elegant."
A second added: "True. I actually like it."
A third remarked: "It is a naked dress, but it’s the most beautiful naked dress I’ve ever seen! And she has the body to wear it. So stunning!"

And a fourth summed up: "This is the type of a naked dress that's socially acceptable, aesthetically appealing, and imagination igniting just as intended.
"Jennifer Lawrence looks tastefully sexy yet romantic at the same time in this sheer Givenchy dress that reminds me of Halle Berry's Ellie Saab dress for Oscars in 2002. Excellent colour palette for Jennifer. My favorite look so far."
Lawrence actually joked about being 'naked' when talking about going to the after-parties on the red carpet.
"I'm going to hang. I'm naked, I might as well," she told ET, adding that her children wished she stayed home: "They would prefer I not be here."
Ahead of the Golden Globes, Lawrence spoke about how she prefers filming NSFW scenes with strangers when it comes to her projects.

Speaking to People about filming with Robert Pattinson, she said: "It was actually easier that way, because Rob and I did not know each other. Which is kind of better, you know?
"Imagine it! So yeah, doing it with a stranger is preferable."
The 35-year-old recalled filming a particularly odd scene in her latest project with Pattinson, Die My Love.
"It was these actors, and they’re attacking each other like tigers," she said. "And we were like, ‘OK, yeah,’ and she was like, ‘Can you do it naked, yeah?’ [imitating director Lynne Ramsay's Scottish accent]. We were like, ‘Oh, OK,’ and that was the first day on set."
Biggest moments of the 2026 Golden Globes
Nikki Glaser’s savage monologue and Epstein joke
It was the comedian’s second time hosting the awards show and, once again, she did not hold back.
Glaser was quick to reference the Epstein files, telling the crowd: "I cannot believe the amount of star power we have in this room tonight, it's insane. There are so many A-listers... and by 'A-listers’, I do mean people who are on a list that has been heavily redacted.
"And the Golden Globe for the best editing goes to the Justice Department."
She also found time to poke fun at Leonardo DiCaprio’s love life, roast Timothée Chalamet's physique, ask George Clooney to fix her Nespresso machine and call CBS 'America's newest place to 'see BS' News'.
Same time next year, Glaser?
Owen Cooper makes Golden Globes history

The 16-year-old became the youngest person to win the award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series for his role in Adolescence.
The Netflix show swept up with three more awards - Best Actor in a Limited Series for Stephen Graham, Best Supporting Actress for Erin Doherty and Best Limited/Anthology Series or TV movie.
Wanda Sykes throws shade at Ricky Gervais
Ahead of presenting the award for Best Stand-up Comedy Performance, Wanda Sykes said: "Ricky Gervais, I love you for not being here. No, I love you, Ricky, because if you win, I get to accept the award on your behalf, and you're going to thank God and the trans community. Ooh, Ricky!"
However, with Gervais winning for Mortality and not being in attendance, Sykes used the opportunity to call out the comedian and accept the award on his behalf.
Asking if she could 'borrow' Teyana Taylor's speech, she said: “Because he would like to thank God and the trans community.”
Snoop Dogg gets censored
While presenting the first-ever Best Podcast award, the rapper’s speech was bleeped, and viewers at home were left wondering what he said.
"Best Podcast is a very important category for me, because, before podcasts, I was what y'all would listen to driving around in your cars. To you podcasters, you better hope I don't get in that game," Snoop began.
"Shout-out to the Golden Globes for putting the podcast category in this awards show. And shout-out to all of the podcasters. You all are winners, but the real winner is..."
The sound appeared to be briefly cut out before he handed Amy Poehler the award for Good Hang.
As per Entertainment Weekly, Snoop (unsurprisingly) said: "I'm high as a motherf**ker right now. Y'all had me here too damn long."
Rob Reiner tribute

Glaser closed the show with a subtle tribute to late Hollywood legend Rob Reiner.
The 78-year-old filmmaker and his 70-year-old wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead at their Los Angeles home in December. Their son, Nick, has been charged in connection with their deaths.
The host appeared on stage wearing a 'Spinal Tap' cap, referencing Reiner’s 1984 movie This Is Spinal Tap.
"This one went to 11. Thank you guys for an amazing night, and I hope we found the line between clever and stupid. A good Chalamet to you all," Glaser poignantly said.
