Jenna Ortega's mom has the best response after video of daughter smoking goes viral

Jenna Ortega's mom clearly wasn't impressed

Fans believe Jenna Ortega’s mom seemingly made a series of ‘passive aggressive’ posts in response to a clip of the star smoking a cigarette going viral.

It’s common practice that some fans hold celebrities to a higher standard than they probably would their friends.

They scrutinise their bad health habits, berate them for their relationship choices and sometimes can become angry when an idol’s opinion clashes with their own.

But it’s important to remember that these actors, musicians and models are human and just like us, have various flaws and vices.

If you were on the internet last May, then you may remember die-hard fans of Ortega, now 22, losing their minds after watching footage of the star presumably puffing on a cigarette.

Of course, we know smoking is bad for your health, but as long as a celebrity is aware of the risks, then it isn’t really up to us to get them to stop, is it?

There is one person who does have the right to comment on the Netflix alumna’s habit though - her mom.

Seemingly after watching the viral video of her daughter smoking last year, Natalie Ortega took to social media to respond in the ‘most mom way’ possible.

The emergency room nurse took to her Instagram story to share a meme - alongside a whopping 12 other posts - which have left followers howling with laughter.

The first image features a picture of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings franchise and works to set the tone for the rest of what can only be described as basically a PowerPoint presentation.

The caption reads: "Don't believe those lies about cigarettes being bad for you. I've been smoking for most my 21 years and I feel great!"

The former Stoor Hobbit meme is followed by more smoking-related posts which dive into the negative health effects it can cause and how the smell of smoke is ‘repulsive’.

The penultimate of the 12 posts shared by Ortega's mom features a quote by Toan Lam: "NO MATTER who you are and how big you get, always SURROUND YOURSELF with people who will tell you the TRUTH."

The final post reads: "A mother is always a mother. She never stops worrying about her children, even when they are all grown up and have children of their own."

Regarding the so-called ‘passive aggressive’ posts, one Reddit user wrote: "This is the most mom thing ever hahaha."

"I don't think this means she didn't say anything to Jenna, I think this is just classic passive aggressive mum stuff in addition to that," another added.

A third commented: "Not a whole presentation! She had time."

"This is HILARIOUS because I can see my mom doing this exact thing. In addition to publicly posting this she'd also send me 20 page long text messages about how bad smoking is. Lol," a fourth said.

And a final wrote: "I know people are saying she should have just sent this to her daughter in private but I kind of see this from another perspective. It could be that she understands many look up to her daughter and will possibly be influenced by her behavior as she’s reached many young people post-Addams fame.”

"Maybe if she can’t get her daughter to stop, she at least wants to try and deinfluence teens and young adults who might try and emulate her? Just a thought.”
