Jaden Smith has caused some controversy after walking off mid-interview on the red carpet.

On Wednesday, Smith was attending an event when he was pulled by Complex journalist Jillian Hardeman-Webb for a chat.

Smith seems to have ditched his music career to focus on fashion having been picked as men's creative director for luxury brand Christian Louboutin last year.

A press release shared at the time stated that the 27-year-old son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith will 'oversee the creation of four collections annually across men’s shoes, leather goods, and accessories' and will develop the brand's visual and emotional identity across marketing campaigns, corresponding events and experiences, People reported.

Smith stepped out last week for Druski's exclusive screening for the season two premiere of Coulda Been Love series in Los Angeles when he chatted with Hardeman-Webb.

With his fashion ties in mind, she asked him: "I see that you're working with Steven Smith, who designed Yeezy footwear with Ye. What are y'all cooking up?"

Smith then simply walked away without explanation, leaving Hardeman-Webb stood there awkwardly.

"I guess we'll never find out," she then said to the camera.

The video has left people divided online. One person penned on Twitter: "Omg lmfao I’m sorry but that was sooo dramatic."

A second said: "The problem with taking Nepo celebs seriously."

Others suggested that Smith marched off because the reporter mentioned Ye (Kanye West).

Somebody said: "Disrespectful af…. maybe it was the Ye reference that made him feel she was being messy? I miss the nepo babies with PR training… There was a better way to handle that."

"Mentioning Kanye was random and maybe he saw it as shady, he still shouldn’t of stormed off like that," said another.

Ye and Smith have had a turbulent relationship over the years. While Smith once credited the 'I Am a God' rapper as one of the reasons he got into music, it's believed the duo are no longer on talking terms.

In 2022, Smith walked out of one of Ye's fashion shows after he sported a 'White Lives Matter' t-shirt.

Speaking afterwards, the Karate Kid actor said in a since-deleted tweet: "I can't stand behind what Kanye's saying. He does not have the full support of the youth."

"I don’t care who it is if I don’t feel the message I’m out," he added in a separate post.
