Ice-T's wife Coco Austin has defended her decision to breastfeed her daughter until she was six years old.
Coco, 46, appeared on Bunnie Xo's Dumb Blonde podcast and spoke about some of her parenting decisions and why she took them.
The model welcomed her daughter Chanel in 2016, and revealed that she had breastfed her until she was older than when many mothers might choose to stop.
But while she acknowledged this might be longer than most, Coco was unapologetic about her decision to breastfeed her daughter in this way.

Of course, everyone is different and parents can take their own approaches in raising their kids.

In the case of breastfeeding her daughter, Coco said that in the later years it was less about actually feeding her and more about sharing a bond with her.
"It wasn't like I was feeding her because she needed a meal," she said. "She was able to eat by a year, you know, full, like, solids. It was more of a bonding experience and more of like, 'Okay, I'll give you the milk.'"
She explained that she actually let her daughter decide when she wanted to stop breastfeeding.
"It was more like she wanted to be around me," said Coco. "So I was like, I'm gonna let her stop when she wants to stop."
Nonetheless, she was adamant that there would be a cutoff point.

Coco said: "She's not gonna be 16 on my boob. She's gonna eventually figure out, 'Okay, this is kinda strange or weird and stuff'. And that happened around 6, ... which was still [an] extremely long amount of time apparently."
She added: "But in Europe, they're doing till 7. Like, it's nothing to them. I mean, Americans think that's weird."
Coco explained that her daughter would mostly breastfeed before going to sleep as she had wanted her mom to be there, and it would be comforting.
"It was more of like a comfort thing with her, but I got so many people that loved it," she said. "Like, they were on my side."
She added: "I was like, 'Oh, this is so nice' because I was the only one speaking about it. And I'm like, why is this so hard? Like, people have been doing this for thousands of years."
