Fans of Hugh Grant are going into 'meltdown' after discovering what the actor's middle name is, with some saying it explains why he's so 'grumpy all the time'.

The Wonka actor is never far away from the headlines, is he? Whether it be disliking a general movie category or just having a general moan, everyone knows Grant's game.

This time, Grant is in the news because of his middle name, and many of his adoring fans have come to the conclusion that it's why he is 'grumpy all the time'.

If you were to have a quick Wikipedia search of Grant you'll notice the actor has a rather unique middle name - Mungo, to be exact.

So, the 64-year-old's full name is Hugh John Mungo Grant, with many pointing out his name is literally Hugh Mungo.

While that may be pretty hilarious to much of the internet, I can't help but think what poor Hugh is making of all this.

"This is your monthly reminder that High Grant’s middle name is Mungo. HUGH MUNGO GRANT," one person penned on Twitter.

"I think every day about how hugh grant’s middle name is mungo. every single day," a second added, while a third joked: "My brain is breaking at the fact that Hugh Grant’s middle name is 'Mungo'."

The unique name thing must run in the Grant family, with the actor recently revealing the unique names of his two youngest children.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel’s show last month, the star provided an insight into his life as a father.

He admitted that when it came to his two youngest daughters, he was panicking a little bit.

But first of all, Kimmel was of course going to pick Grant up on his middle name.

"It’s actually Hugh John Mungo. I don’t know how it happened. I had very unkind parents," Grant said on the show.

Speaking about his own daughter’s middle name, he added: "Worse. I have a daughter who I named…I was in a bit of a panic with my wife on the day we named her and we thought it might be nice for her when she was older if she could say in bars that her middle name was Danger.

"So her name is Lulu Danger Grant."

To be honest, is anything more epic than being able to say ‘danger is my middle name’?

In addition to Lulu, Grant is also a father to John Mungo, daughters Tabitha Xiao Xi and Blue Grant, plus son Felix Chang Hong, 11.
