From his painfully awkward interview with Ashley Graham to his viral scrotum joke, it's safe to say Hugh Grant was the talk of the town of this year's Oscars.

The Notting Hill actor, next to be seen in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, had rom-com fans swooning with a little Four Weddings and a Funeral reunion at the Oscars last Sunday (March 12).

He and co-star Andie MacDowell presented the award for Best Production Design during Hollywood's most-watched night. But before the coveted prize went to Christian M. Goldbeck and Ernestine Hipper for All Quiet on the Western Front, Grant displayed some excellent self-deprecating humour that fans didn't fail to appreciate:

Even MacDowell struggled to keep a straight face...

"We're actually here to do two things. The first is to raise awareness about the vital importance of using a good moisturiser,

Andie has been wearing one every day for the last 29 years. I've never used one in my life," Grant said on stage.

"Still stunning," he said pointing at MacDowell, before pointing back to himself and joking, "Basically a scrotum."

During an appearance on The View following the viral moment, Grant revealed he was 'nervous' about having to deliver the line at first. However, he relaxed when he realised his fellow celebrities, including Alien star Sigourney Weaver, and viewers appreciated it.

"I think I got away with it," he told Whoopi Goldberg and the other panellists. "Sigourney Weaver said to me afterward, 'You don't look like a scrotum.' She liked the joke. That relaxed me. But I was very nervous about it."

Goldberg also followed up on the joke, handing a bottle of moisturiser to Grant, 'just in case'.

"You can never have too much moisturiser," she told him before he jokingly asked, "Would you mind if I moisturised during our interview?"

Grant may have handled it like a pro at the Oscars, but i'm sure comparing yourself to a 'scrotum' on an international stage is no easy feat.

Dreading saying the word could explain why the English actor seemed uncomfortable during his champagne carpet interview with model Ashley Graham.

While the interviewer tried her best to chat to Grant, the banterless conversation left viewers cringing as the actor's responses sounded a little curt, with some criticising his attitude.

The Bridget Jones's Diary star hasn't addressed what happened on the carpet with Graham just yet, but we're a little more understanding knowing he was probably anticipating that viral 'scrotum' moment.
