Heidi Klum responds to backlash over 'weird' lingerie photoshoot with 19-year-old daughter

Heidi Klum has addressed the criticism she faced after she did a lingerie photoshoot with her 19-year-old daughter.

The model, American's Got Talent judge and businesswoman - oh, and how could we forget, the Queen of Halloween - has three children with ex-husband Seal, while her daughter Leni's father is 73-year-old billionaire Flavio Briatore.

Klum did a photoshoot with Leni back in October last year, however, she came under fire for the images, with some branding the shoot 'weird'.

The prude police came out in full force when the model posted the images of her and Leni to her Instagram.

Klum's caption read: "Together with @intimissimiofficial we celebrate women; the love and support between a mother and her daughter; and how confident, beautiful and happy lingerie can make you feel. Creative director ….my longtime friend @thomashayo Thanks for making us feel confident all day singing and dancing in our @intimissimiofficial."

Intimissimi wrote: "Together @heidiklum and @leniklum celebrate The Art of Italian Lingerie like mother and daughter. Every woman has a special place in her heart for her favourite lingerie."

However, some couldn't help but let out their inner Karen, with one user saying the shoot is 'a bit ick,' another calling it 'weird' and a third questioning: "Who dances half naked with their mom?"

In an interview with Page Six, Leni defended her and her mum's shoot, admitting she 'didn't look at a lot of the reactions' but is 'overall happy with the campaign' - adding she had an 'amazing day' with her mom.

"I think the photos turned out great," she said.

Heidi has also since addressed the backlash the pair faced for stripping down to their underwear together.

She told the Mail Online: "It's been fun to shoot together. To do photoshoots together with her and just to see how she's just very comfortable and also comfortable around me even when we're doing underwear shoots or something like that.

"It makes me proud that my daughter is super comfortable in her skin also in front of me and around me because not every kid is in the world.

"So, I love that we have this beautiful relationship."

And it's not just Leni and Heidi who loved the photoshoot too, with many followers of the models having flooded to their defence against the haters.

One Instagram user said: "As a mother of 3 daughters who thankfully live in Europe instead of crazy USA: They look beautiful, just a photo of a mother and a daughter in underwear could have been bathingsuits as well. When they walk on the beach side by side no one would be that judgemental. She has reached adult age and she is under guidance of here super professional mother. She Will be just fine.

"Stop harassing them stop throwing us women back to middle ages. So sad al this sick commentaar are from women themselfes!!"
