Strict rule celebrities must follow before receiving jaw-dropping items inside $1,000,000 Golden Globes gift bag

Some celebrities may have forgotten to read the small print when it came to their $1 million Golden Globe gift bags.

The Golden Globes on Sunday night (January 5) marked the first major awards night of the season, and saw the likes of Demi Moore, Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña win their respective categories.

However, it wasn't a total loss for the nominees that didn't end up taking home an award as they, the winners and award presenters such as Vin Diesel will all have been gifted a jaw-dropping $1 million goody bag.

Quite the commiseration present, if you ask me.

The contents of the bags were curated by lifestyle publication Robb Report.

All 100 people who were eligible for the gift bag will have received:

    • Five-day luxury yacht charter throughout the Coral Triangle in Indonesia ($60,000)
    • One-night stay in a Beverly Hills suite ($1,500)
    • Five-night stay in a Grand Cayman resort ($55,000)
    • Beau Domaine The Fluid Cream ($209)
    • A choice of decadent organic-linen or cotton sateen sheets ($572 – $1,392)
    • A cutting-edge LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2 ($469)
    • Vitamin C Serum and COQ10 ($98)
    • A kit of flowery skin-care essentials ($290)
    • A bottle of The Hearach Single Malt Scotch Whisky and/or Isle of Harris Gin ($90 and $150)

Now, for any of you who could be bothered to do the math, you'll know that these items don't all add up to be a million dollars-worth of gifts, and that's because some of the most luxury items were only available to a certain number of celebrities.

For example, a private flight and stay in Finland to see the Northern Lights worth $48,000 was only available to one recipient, and only nine people could go on the three-night stay in a beachfront villa in Turks and Caicos (worth over $500,000).

With the limited availability in mind, if a celebrity such as Ralph Fiennes - who was up for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama on Sunday night for Conclave - wanted the exclusive trip to Finland, he'd have to be the first person of the 100 eligible for the trip to put himself forward for it.

The same 'first come, first served' rule reportedly applied to the other freebies available to only a specific number of Hollywood stars, says The Guardian.

Personally I'd have been fighting tooth and nail for the three-night stay in a six-bedroom Caribbean estate villa...
