Jason Momoa has opened up about the realities some stars face while working in TV and film.

Unless you're lucky enough to get back-to-back roles in Hollywood, then there may be periods of time where you go without work.

Euphoria star Nika King said she was 'unable to pay rent' earlier this year following the unexpected wait between filming seasons of the hit HBO show.

The second season officially wrapped in November 2021, with production for the highly anticipated third season not expected to star until next year.

Meanwhile, after jobs fizzled out for Sopranos favorite Drea de Matteo, she had to turn to OnlyFans to keep her and her family afloat.

This is something that Jason Momoa also knows all to well after falling 'completely in debt' when work dried up after his role in Game of Thrones.

Momoa starred as Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) husband, Khal Drogo, in the popular show.

But in line with the books penned by George R. R. Martin, Drogo dies as a result of an infection and is killed off at the end of season one.

With his character's death in mind, Momoa was left without a job.

Speaking about his home life with now-estranged wife Lisa Bonet and their kids after the show, the actor shared with InStyle magazine in 2020: "We were starving after Game of Thrones."

He added: "I couldn't get work. It's very challenging when you have babies and you're completely in debt."

But Momoa's luck changed in the years that followed after he was cast as Aquaman in the Justice League alongside the likes of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot in 2016.

Two stand-alone Aquaman movies have since followed suit.

As well as being a staple of the DC Universe, Momoa has starred in blockbuster movies like Braven, Dune, and Fast X.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Momoa's now has an estimated net worth of $40 million - a far cry from his days of battling with debt and struggling to land acting jobs.

His life after Game of Thrones isn't the only hardships Momoa has faced in recent years; the actor says he was left 'homeless' following his divorce form Lisa Bonet.

The celebrity pair announced their separation in 2022, with Bonet going on to officially file for divorce earlier this year.

While technically homeless, Momoa insisted he was living his best life on the road at the time of his candid admission and was heading to New Zealand to film his upcoming movie, Minecraft (which debuted its first trailer in recent days).
