Erika Kirk has faced backlash after she released a brief Christmas message to her fans and followers.

While Erika’s message has been praised by many of her supporters, others have remarked they didn’t like it for one key issue.

The video has already started to do the rounds on social media after being shared by Fox News.

Erika Kirk has been propelled to the national spotlight following the assassination of her controversial conservative husband Charlie Kirk in September.

Since then, Erika Kirk has become the CEO of Turning Point USA, the organization that her husband co-founded.

Following this appointment, Erika has spoken on stage and alongside multiple conservative figures including Donald Trump and JD Vance.

In her Christmas message, Erika said: “This holiday season my prayer for you is to just honestly rest. That would be my husband’s message as well.

“There is a lot of noise out there. Holiday season can be really crazy, but I just pray that you find some alone time with the Lord and your family.

“Love on your babies, love on your family members, life is short.”

Erika conveyed this message while stood in front of a Christmas tree and holding her husband's posthumous publication, a book called Stop in the Name of God.

Showcasing the book is what got under the skin of some social media users who felt it was disingenuous to include it in the heartfelt message.

One user wrote: “I know when I grieve, I always feel better when I go on a massive publicity tour selling books, t-shirts, and supplements.”

Another added: “Using Christmas and her dead husband's name to make money is blasphemy."

A third critic added: “Yeah people should stop going on tours and spend time with their family. People who lost loved ones should take time to grieve and not be out engaging in media campaigns.”

With another writing: “I loved Charlie, I don't love this - the harder they push this - the more it pushes intuitive people away from it.”

However, some people dismissed these comments and defended Erika.

One person wrote: “Erika Kirk reminding everyone to love family this holiday after losing Charlie proves life ends fast for anyone."

While another commented: "Young leaders gone too soon expose how fragile power and plans really are. Cherish yours now."

With a third writing: “Cherishing those moments with loved ones makes every holiday meaningful.”
