Another day, another bizarre Elon Musk story - this time with the tech mogul stumping the internet as a photo resurfaces of him kissing a female robot.

Just when you thought the spotlight was off the world's richest man, who this week alone became a father for the 13th time, said he 'loved' President Trump and announced he wanted to 'die on Mars', once again Musk is at the center of the limelight.

It is unsurprising the mega tech mogul, who owns Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX, sure does love his gadgets - though perhaps a little too much...

Indeed, social media has been awash with yet more Musk controversy as the 53-year-old appeared to get a bit too close and personal with a female humanoid.

Following the release of footage of Tesla's humanoid robots - called Optimus - taking its first steps, snaps showed Musk kissing four different robotic women.

Twitter user, Daniel Marven, who claims to have all the insight wrote: "Elon Musk announces the future wife, who is she? It is the first robot that has been manufactured specifically designed with artificial intelligence with the personality and the characteristics of the female that he dreams of… which is not found in any normal person, because of course, there is no normal person that has all the required specifications.”

However, not all is what it seems as it turns out the images were made using artificial intelligence. Phew.

“The post is to clarify the dangers of AI (artificial intelligence) in the coming period, especially after Tesla Company released the first integrated robot ‘Optimus,’” he said in the same tweet.

The prank certainly gagged a few Twitter users who were having a field day at the odd AI-generated intimate images of Musk.

“Well well well… what have we here?” one person wrote

A film fan referenced the classic Will Smith sci-film about a rogue humanoid robot. “I, Robot is about to be reality,” they posted in response to the pictures.

A third person wrote: “@elonmusk is taking it too far now… Where’s the robot husband?”

While someone else tweeted: “This just reminds me of the movie #MATRIX.”

The comments come as Tesla showed its Optimus robots taking a giant leap for robotkind, having come a long way since the prototype was unveiled in 2022.

The shocking AI snaps of Musk also come as other celebrities have slammed the use of such advanced technology.

Another AI-made video also went viral this week which showed a likeness of some of Hollywood's famous faces, such as Adam Sandler, Sacha Baron Cohen, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Black, Lisa Kudrow and Scarlett Johansson giving the disgraced rapper, Kanye West, the middle finger after his apparent antisemitic rant on Twitter.

Johansson spoke out against deepfake footage being used in any scenario, saying to PEOPLE: "We must call out the misuse of AI, no matter its messaging, or we risk losing a hold on reality.

"There is a 1000-foot wave coming regarding A.I. that several progressive countries, not including the United States, have responded to in a responsible manner. It is terrifying that the U.S. government is paralyzed when it comes to passing legislation that protects all of its citizens against the imminent dangers of A.I."
