Adam Sandler shares heartbreaking tribute to his Grown Ups co-star Alec Musser dead at 50

The actor sadly passed away on Friday night (12 January)

Adam Sandler has shared a tribute to his former co-star Alec Musser who sadly died over the weekend.

Musser passed away on Friday (12 January) at the age of 50, his family confirmed.

His cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

In a tribute to his fellow Grown Ups co-star, Sandler took to social media to share a photo of Musser playing the iconic Water Park Stud.

"I loved this guy," he wrote.

"Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person."

Sandler and Musser co-starred in the movie together back in 2010 alongside Salma Hayek and Chris Rock.

Commenting on Sandler's tribute, Musser's fiancé, Paige Press, thanked the Uncut Gems star for his kind words.

"Thank you @adamsandler Alec was my fiancé. He spoke so highly of you and I know working on grownups was one of the best times of his life.

"My heart is so broken."

Press confirmed that the actor had died on Friday (January 12), at his home in Del Mar, California.

Writing on Instagram, Press shared a series of Stories about Musser, writing that her 'heart is so broken'.

The pair got engaged last year, after six years together.

"RIP to the love of my life,' she wrote.

"I will never stop loving you... Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy.

"You were the best fiancé I could of ever asked for... I am never taking off my ring. @alecmusser I love you forever."

Sharing a photo of their dog Rue, Press also added: "Rue sill never stop loving her dad, you were the best dog dad."

She also posted a throwback image of Musser posing alongside matching Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUVs.

"I don't even think I can drive my g wagon anymore," she added.

Musser's uncle also confirmed the news to TMZ but did not disclose the cause of death.

The actor was best known for his role as Del Henry in long-running TV series, All My Children.

Meanwhile, Musser - who was also a fitness model - also appeared in Desperate Housewives, Road to the Altar and Rita Rocks.

Ever since the sad news was announced, tributes have been pouring in for the star.

One fan wrote: "A voice a generation will remember forever. Thanks for posting his memory."

While another said: "Rest in peace."
