Aimee Lou Wood has said she doesn't regret calling out a Saturday Night Live skit that mocked her teeth.
Earlier this year, the White Lotus star became the victim of an SNL skit that aired in May - something she dubbed 'mean and unfunny'.
The British actor was portrayed by Sarah Sherman, who wore huge prosthetic teeth while poking fun at her Mancunian accent, in the skit titled 'The White Potus'.
Comedian James Austin Johnson also portrayed President Donald Trump in what was a rather bizarre piece of television.

In another part of the sketch, celebrity host Jon Hamm talks to Sherman's character about taking 'all the fluoride out of the drinking water', with fluoride being an ingredient found in toothpaste. He then adds: "But what would that do to people's teeth?"
To which Sherman replies: "Fluoride? What's that?"
Following the sketch's broadcast, she, along with a few others on social media, criticized SNL for its sketch.

She continued to say that she had no issue with being the punchline of a joke, however, she thought there 'must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way', adding: "Last thing I'll say on the matter. I am not thin skinned. I actually love being taken the p*ss out of when it's clever and in good spirits.
"But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth. I don't mind caricature-I understand that's what SNL is. But the rest of the skit was punching up and I/ Chelsea was the only one punched down on... Okay end of."
In a recent interview with the BBC, Wood said she has no regrets over calling out the makers of SNL for the skit.
"I don't regret saying it because it was breaking a pattern, which is what I would usually do - what I did when I was younger and got bullied," the actor said.

"I have a choice here to go in and be embarrassed about it and just say 'I didn't like that. It was mean'."
Wood added: "No matter what chaos came from it, I'm still happy for me and my personal journey that I said something.

"I've gone into meetings with directors that I've admired and burst into tears and not been able to say a word and I think that kind of urge is always to correct, to say 'I'm so sorry that I just did something messy' and actually you didn't do anything wrong."

Shortly after the skit aired, photos obtained by MailOnline showed the British actor 'crying' in central London before meeting up with House of the Dragon star Ralph Davis.
And with the internet being the internet, many put two and two together and presumed Wood was upset because of the SNL skit.
However, Wood was quick to dismiss such noise, telling Entertainment Tonight at the Met Gala in May: "It all got very out of control… my whole thinking was I could either say something because I saw it and people were angry about it… and have it be said, and I won’t spiral inwardly, and feel terrible about myself.
"I wasn’t crying about the SNL skit, I was crying about something completely unrelated, but it all got quite out of control."

Wood has previously stated that she received an apology from the makers of SNL regarding the skit.
