Aimee Lou Wood has revealed the truth behind the viral photos of her crying after calling out a Saturday Night Live skit that mocked her teeth.
There's no doubt that some SNL sketches certainly push the boundaries, with the hosts even finding themselves in hot water in the past over comments they've made about certain celebrities.
The White Lotus star Wood became the victim of a skit that aired last month - something she dubbed 'mean and unfunny'.

The 31-year-old actor was portrayed by Sarah Sherman who wore huge prosthetic teeth while acting intentionally stupid and poking fun out of her accent, in the skit titled 'The White Potus'.
Meanwhile, comedian James Austin Johnson portrayed President Donald Trump.

In the sketch, SNL's host Jon Hamm said to Sherman's character: "What if we took all the fluoride out of the drinking water? But what would that do to people's teeth?"

"Fluoride? What's that?" Sherman replied, before adding: "Oh, look, a monkey."
Hamm's character then went on to say he was going to kill the creature, to which Sherman responded: "No, not the monkey."
Shortly after the show aired, photos obtained by the MailOnline showed the British actor crying in central London before meeting up with House of the Dragon star Ralph Davis.
And of course, many thought they had put two and two together and believed she was upset because of the SNL skit.
Wood has since detailed the truth behind the viral images while speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Met Gala on May 5.

She said: "It all got very out of control… my whole thinking was I could either say something because I saw it and people were angry about it… and have it be said, and I won’t spiral inwardly, and feel terrible about myself.
"I wasn’t crying about the SNL skit, I was crying about something completely unrelated, but it all got quite out of control."
The actor previously took to social media to address the pictures, stating she was crying about something 'completely unrelated'.

Wood wrote in an Instagram Story: "Just to say, I actually wasn't crying about anything the papers made out I was crying about. [It was] something complete unrelated."
After the 'The White Potus' aired, the Sex Education star called out SNL, writing on Instagram: "But whilst in honest mode - I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny xo (Felt righteous might delete later x).
"So, to conclude today's rant: @hbo - kind and supportive and never wronged me so leave them alone. @nbcsnl - mean.
"On a positive note, everyone is agreeing with me about it so I'm glad I said something instead of going in on myself."

Wood continued: "Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. Yes, take the p*ss for sure that's what the show is about but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way!
"Last thing I'll say on the matter. I am not thin skinned. I actually love being taken the p*ss out of when it's clever and in good spirits.
"But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth. I don't mind caricature - I understand that's what SNL is. But the rest of the skit was punching up and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on... Okay end of.
"Actually one last thing. Not @sarahsquirm's [Sarah Sherman] fault x not hating on her, hating on the concept x."
Wood later shared that she had received an apology from the SNL team.
