A former adult film star has issued a public apology after she was caught on camera during a college football championship earlier this week.
Amirah Day, whose stage name is Abella Danger, was plastered all over national TV while in the crowd for the Miami Hurricanes' playoff against the Indiana Hoosiers, with the ESPN cameras turning to her briefly during the football game.
The 30-year-old, who is currently studying at the University of Miami with the hopes of becoming an attorney, was shown in tears during the tense match on Monday night (January 19) as her team was down 10 points with seven minutes to go.
But while it is likely the camera operators merely wanted to depict the emotional turmoil that the Hurricanes were going through, some viewers familiar with Danger's past work recognized the crying fan as none other than the ex-adult film star.

Ultimately, Miami would lose the College Football Playoff final by 27-21, cementing Day's Hurricanes heartbreak.
But with some of the focus seemingly taken off the Hurricanes thanks to her appearance during their all-important playoff game, Day, who quit making adult films in 2020, felt forced to apologize to the team and its fans.
One user on X joked: "Guys across the country watching the game with their wives and having to pretend they had no idea who Abella Danger was when they showed her on TV and their wife asked ‘Who’s that?'"
However, this notoriety was not Day's intention when attending the game to cheer along the Hurricanes, who she has supported throughout the season and beyond, as a native Miami resident.
"I would give anything in the world to not have had ESPN film me, and I am so deeply sorry to anyone I offended with my attendance at the game," Danger told TMZ. "I wish I could be any other student supporting my team."
She added: "To feel your own existence is a burden to everyone around you is tough."
In an Instagram post to her 9.5 million followers, Day had a more positive reflection on her team's defeat, saying: "Even though we lost, I don’t care. Cuz that game tonight proved that no other team deserved to be in the national versus Miami."
She went on to say: "No other team. Miami deserved that. Everyone counted us out. I don’t care if we lost. Those men out there, they were the best of the best. No one deserved that spot other than Miami."
Day also addressed her critics in a message on her Story: "I was born and raised in Miami. I went to South Miami Middle School five minutes from UM, where we all wore orange and green just like UM.
“I wish I could be like any other student supporting my team.
"To feel your own existence is a burden to everyone around you is tough."
