Former porn star Mia Khalifa has said it’s ‘worse’ to 'sell your body' by joining the army than to be on OnlyFans.

The 29-year-old made the comments on late-night talk show Ziwe, hosted by Ziwe Fumudoh, saying it was ‘selling your body’ on OnlyFans is not as bad as ‘selling your body to the government’ by joining the army.

Fumudoh said: "So we have OnlyFans, and then we have the sex work industry, and then we have like actors.

"Is there a difference between these industries or are we all fundamentally selling out bodies in some way?"

Khalifa replied: "Honestly, I think that selling your body, like if we are going by that definition, being in the army is worse than being on OnlyFans. You're selling your body to the government."

Her statement prompted the host to reply: “Wow.”

The clip has since been shared on TikTok, where it’s picked up more than 270,000 likes and has sparked a lively discussion.

One TikTok user wrote: “I mean… where’s the lie?”

While another said: "She's onto something."

Others disagreed with Khalifa’s take, writing: “Service to our country is NOT shameful.”

And someone else wrote: “At least in the army you do something [for] society.”

Whether you agree with her or not - Khalifa is making an absolute fortune on OnlyFans.

According to the International Business Times, she is one of the highest-earning creators on the platform.

In the same interview she made the comments about the military, she revealed that she makes around $10,000 (£8,200) per day from the subscription site - compared to the $12,000 (£9,800) she made during her three month long porn career.

And she gets to pocket the lot instead of having to divvy up any money made with producers.

While OnlyFans is mostly used to share explicit content, Khalifa's profile reads that hers is: "Safe for work, but spicy."

"I am finally growing into my self-confidence in who I am and the decisions I make for me, and this is my way of being myself outside the perimeters of conventional social media," she said after launching her OnlyFans account.

"Even though I will not be creating nude content, I am going to be treating this page like my Instagram without [the] terms of service."

She added: "I want to take my power back and just post what I want and what makes me feel good, and I'm just so thankful that y'all are along for this wild ride."
