Logan Paul Thought He'd Die In Floyd Mayweather Fight

Paul opened up on saying 'f**k it' when it comes to fights with people like Mayweather

Logan Paul was afraid he'd 'die' when he took on Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match.

For better or worse, the YouTuber-turned-fighter is climbing that apex mountain every week: he made his Wrestlemania debut and even walked away with a win; he broke a Guinness World Record; and he just launched a new 'liquid marketplace'.

While WWE superstardom may await him if he signs a full-time contract, the biggest moment of his career so far has to be his bout with Mayweather, which went the full eight rounds.

During his latest appearance on The MMA Hour, Paul discussed the lead-up to last year's fight.

He said: "I've almost mastered the art of connected disconnectedness. You disconnect yourself completely and kind of surrender to what will happen. I live in that space for big events, especially for with Floyd.

"Part of me thought I was going to die with Floyd Mayweather, how do you f***ing cope with that? You're just like, 'Well, f**k it.' It's a complicated way of saying f**k it.'"

Paul defied the naysayers when he took the fight the whole way - but don't expect a rematch with Mayweather any time soon.

Speaking to TMZ in February, Paul spoke about how he still hadn't been paid for the fight.

He said: "We made that mistake. But you know it’s Floyd Mayweather. Before we fought him, we kind of were willing to do whatever. Now, after the fact, we’re kind of shooting ourselves in the foot because he’s a f***ing scumbag.

"Everyone else who fights Floyd should know that. Don’t let him control the money."

As for his next fighting plans, it's unclear whether he'll be committing to WWE, but he's keen to go up against Paddy Pimblett in the UFC.

He said: "I’d like a run at it. I’d like a win in some sort of a fighting, combat sport... I think I’d be good at it, too. But then again, bro, I’m like, okay, do I f***ing go and get my head kicked in or wrestle and have so much more fun.

"They’re saying [Pimblett is] possibly the next Conor McGregor, right? He’s super charismatic, he’s entertaining as hell, he’s on the come up, he’s young like me, he’s got a real loud mouth. I just like the way he can perform.

"I think also, in the off season, he can come up like 25lb... so he can get up to 185 and I can get down to 185 and possibly do a UFC match."
