Kim Kardashian branded ‘delusional’ after being accused of editing out trapezius muscles to make neck look thinner

"I don’t understand why they do it"

Kim Kardashian is once again at the centre of a photoshopping scandal, with fans now accusing her of editing out her trapezius muscles to make her neck look thinner.

Unlike some of her editing fails in the past, the reality TV star's recent job would've easily gone unnoticed to the untrained eye.

The photo in question shared on Kim's Instagram page shows her chilling by the pool and sipping on a cocktail.

However, one person it didn't fool is commercial photographer Caroline In The City, who shared a TikTok video demonstrating how Kim appears to have photoshopped her trapezius.

Have a look below:

For those not in the know, the trapezius is a broad, flat muscle that starts at the base of your neck and goes across your shoulders and to the middle of your back.

It's kind of important for things like moving your head, neck, arms, shoulders and torso – but in the Kardashian world, they're bad for aesthetics. According to Caroline's analysis, at least.

In the clip, she claims that Kim is 'notorious' for photoshopping out this muscle, saying: "Why? I don't know, maybe it makes her neck look smaller."

She then zooms in on the water in the background, which looks like it's been warped, before using the Liquify tool to show how the image likely looked beforehand.

"As you can see, the water reflection in the background starts to look a lot more natural as well, you don't have that warped effect," she explains.

And if you're still not convinced, Caroline also points to a short clip Kim uploaded in the reel which shows the star with her trapezius on display.

Comparing a screenshot of the video with Kim's still, the photographer says that 'you can see her neck and trapezius' in the unedited version.

Although the reality TV star is yet to comment on the claims, thousands of people have criticised her in the comments section.

"I don’t understand why they do it, the non edited original is so much better looking," wrote one, while another said that she'd reached a 'a new level of delusion'.

A third added, "This is actually so not okay. You would think that now that they have daughters they would think about the impact of this more."

UNILAD has contacted a representative for Kim Kardashian for a comment.

As said, this isn't the first time Kim's been accused of photoshopping, with some suggesting she'd added a few touches to her ex Pete Davidson's jawline in an Insta upload back in April.

Although she responded to deny the claims, she did once admit to editing Kylie Jenner's daughter Stormi out of a Disneyland pic back in 2021 and putting in Khloe Kardashian's daughter True instead.

Responding to the backlash over the photo, she said: "The original pics were Stormi! However I asked @kyliejenner if I could post them and she said she wasn't really feeling posting at the moment and so I respect that!

Kim admitted to editing this photo.

"But it wasn't going to mess up my IG feed. Chi was wearing pink and it matched perfectly. It wasn't the aesthetic I was going for and I can own up to that!

You know how much a good aesthetic means to my soul and I will be dammed if Kylie will ruin that for me and mess up my IG grid. So thank you True for taking one for the team!

"I didn't think it would be that big of a deal if her own mom questioned if I snuck her to a Disneyland for the first time."
