Johnny Depp Reunites With Lawyer Camille Vasquez In Europe

The pair were spotted together at one of his concerts with Jeff Beck

Johnny Depp has been spotted with Camille Vasquez, who represented him in his highly publicised defamation suit against Amber Heard.

Depp, 59, sued ex-wife Heard, 36, for $50 million (£38.2m) in a defamation lawsuit over domestic abuse claims she made in a 2018 article in The Washington Post, and she issued a counterclaim for $100m (£76.4m).

The article did not mention Depp by name, yet his lawyers argued it falsely implied he had physically and sexually abused the Aquaman actor while they were together.

The jury unanimously found in favour of Depp, finding that what Heard wrote in her op-ed piece for The Washington Post was defamatory, and awarded him $10.35m (£8.2m) damages.

Earlier this week, Heard's request for the verdict to be thrown out was rejected, and Vasquez was seen reunited with her client.

The pair spent weeks on end side by side in the courtroom in Virginia, but they were reacquainted in Prague, Czech Republic, on Monday (11 July), where Depp was performing alongside Jeff Beck.

Over the course of the trial, all kinds of wild theories swirled about, with many speculating that there may be romance between Depp and Vasquez. However, she has since dismissed such rumours as 'sexist'.

Speaking to People, Vasquez, who was recently promoted to partner at the Brown Rudnick law firm, said she has a boyfriend she is 'very happy' with, adding that it is 'unethical for us to date our clients'.

She said: "It's also an unethical charge being made. It's sexist.

"It's unfortunate and it's disappointing, but at the same time it kind of comes with the territory. I can't say I was all that surprised."

She added: "I guess it comes with the territory of being a woman just doing her job.

"It's disappointing that certain outlets kind of ran with it or said that my interactions with Johnny — who is a friend and I've known and represented for four and a half years now — that my interactions in any way were inappropriate or unprofessional. That's disappointing to hear."

She went on to explain that they had grown close over the years and said she is a very tactile person.

She said: "I care very deeply about my clients, and we have obviously become close. But when I say we, I mean the entire team, and of course that includes Johnny.

"And I'm Cuban and Colombian. I'm tactile. What do you want me to say? I hug everyone. And I'm not ashamed about that."
