People are praising Elon Musk's dance moves at Tesla event

People are divided over Elon Musk's rogue dance moves on stage at the launch of a new Tesla programme

People have been left divided over Elon Musk's rogue dance moves on stage at the launch of a new Tesla programme.

We may have only just reached hump day, but Elon Musk clearly already has that Friday feeling:

Musk doesn't often give two s**ts about much - whether it be posting rogue tweets or reinstating former US President Donald Trump's Twitter account.

So it's not much of a surprise he wasn't too fussed about dancing randomly in front of a huge crowd at the launch of Tesla's Model Y Electric Sports Utility Vehicle programme at the company's new factory in Shanghai on Tuesday (13 December).

People on social media can't get enough of the Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder's moves, either in applause of him letting loose so randomly on stage or because they simply can't get their head round the viral clip.

Musk didn't hold back, treating the audience to a variety of dance moves.

Musk may have reportedly lost $310.8 million (£173.7m) from his net worth every day of the year in 2022 - and may no longer be the richest person in the world - but with an estimated $184.6 billion remaining net worth, I would probably whack out a random joyful dance too.

A video posted by Global News shows Musk taking to the stage to perform a little jig which can only be described as a mix between Pinocchio dancing in Shrek, a duck trying to peck someone and a knight galloping into battle.

After a short interlude of grabbing the mic and actually saying a few words, Musk throws himself back into his routine before performing what can only be described as a strange sort of strip tease to the applauding audience.

Off the jacket comes, thrown to the side of the stage and then appearing to run out of inspiration, Musk picks up the mic again and gets back to business. Don't ask us, we have no clue either.

Some viewers of the 'bizarre' video have flocked to the post in support of Musk randomly cutting some shapes on stage.

One Twitter user said: "Brilliant! Never trust anyone who doesn’t dance."

"King of the world!! Nobody even gets close," another said.

A third commented: "I love it!!! Other leaders can learn from this. DON'T TAKE YOURSELF TO SERIOUSLY..."

One YouTube user said: "He is kind of ridiculously awkward and cute at the same time."

Musk stripped off his jacket during the performance.

Others, understandably, have been left completely bamboozled by the whole occurrence.

One YouTube user said: "Imagine a colony of people dancing like this on Mars during 'Elon Musk Day'."

"He’s not dancing he’s sending a message to the aliens," another theorised, while a third reflected: "He has billions of reasons to dance."

And to top it all off, Musk simply commented on a video of himself busting out the moves stating: "Haha spectrum af."
