Alec Baldwin sued by Halyna Hutchins' parents for deadly Rust shooting
The parents and sister of the slain cinematographer have issued a wrongful death claim,
Halyna Hutchins' grieving family have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Alec Baldwin in the wake of the cinematographer's death on the set of Rust in 2021.
Lawyer Gloria Allred, who is representing Hutchins' parents and sister, said further details of the latest filing against the Hollywood star would be provided in the coming hours at a Los Angeles press conference.
This is the latest in Baldwin's legal woes in relation to Hutchins' tragic death, weeks after the Hollywood A-lister was officially charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter by the District Attorney’s office in New Mexico.

Baldwin was holding the gun when it fired the fatal bullet at Hutchins.
Prosecutors also filed similar claims against Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film’s armorer, alleging she knew the actor needed more training before the shoot.
Gutierrez-Reed was also responsible for checking off safety protocols before the gun was used on set.
Hutchins' husband Matt filed a wrongful death settlement against Baldwin and Rust producers last February, accusing Baldwin and other production heads on set for reckless conduct that invariably led to the fatal shooting.
It was settled in October, with the widower becoming an executive producer for the movie which had aimed to resume filming in January 2023.
At the time, Hutchins' husband said he had no interest in blaming Baldwin or producers for the death of his wife, calling it 'a terrible accident'.
Baldwin was holding the gun that went off and killed Hutchins on the set of the western film last year.
The actor has denied pulling the trigger and has repeatedly said he feels he bears no responsibility for Hutchins' death.
"I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger, that was the training that I had," Baldwin told ABC News.
As per FBI forensic testing of the reproduction Pietta long Colt .45 revolver, authorities found the gun functioned 'normally' and therefore would not fire without the trigger being pulled.
Baldwin's lawyer Luke Nikas was approached for comment, but attorneys for the star told CBS News he would fight the charges
Baldwin, an actor known for 30 Rock, The Departed, and The Hunt for Red October is also a producer of Rust.
