Footage that's gone viral on Reddit has shown the horrifying moment a man tucked into the 'hottest curry' that a waiter had to wear gas mask to serve.
While some hot curries might make you feel hot, flustered and gagging for a cold pint of milk, one diner was left physically floored after tucking into a particularly spicy dish.
The man, named Daniel, took on the challenge served up in a London restaurant, Bengal Village, on Brick Lane.

The warning signs that the dish is exceptionally hot were made evident when the waiter carefully transported the meal to Daniel's table, equipped with gloves, sunglasses and a gas mask.
The footage then shows the customer eagerly tucking in with one heaped spoonful - but moments later, regret appeared to thunder across his face.

The waiter, Mr Raj, explained: "It does get to the back of your throat a bit.

"Have some water, we'll be alright."
"It is the world's hottest curry," he continued, as the diner appeared visibly bothered by the heat. "I want you to enjoy it."
The video then cuts to Daniel outside the restaurant on the floor, surrounded by a carton of milk and an empty bottle of water which he had presumably drunk to curb the sweltering effects.
Daniel had also discarded his shirt at this point and was clearly sweating, which the waiter explained often happens within the first 15 minutes of consuming even just a small spoon of the hot dish.

Mr Raj then re-appeared outside with a large cool class of mango lassi for the struggling customer.
"I swear to god, you'll be alright," the waiter explained as he passed him the drink. "You've got 10 minutes left to recover. No longer than that - you've done the 15 minutes."

"After having that mango lassi, I swear to god, you'll recover."

He continued: "It will cool all your insides, your livers and your throat as well and within 10 minutes you'll be back up. Believe me."
"Just listen to me, I know I'm not a doctor," the expert waiter joked as he pleaded with Daniel to take the drink.
The restaurant has seen many customers try, and fail, to take on the challenge which has exploded on social media.
Bengal Village offers willing participants the chance to get their meal for free, as well as the rest of their table, if they can finish the curry within 15 minutes, no matter the number of guests.

It states its 'hottest curry' is comprised of 72 spices, including the hot Carolina Reaper and a rare chili from Bangladesh dubbed the 'snake chili' and adds on its website: "Disclaimer: We take no responsibility of any after effects."
Speaking to The Sun, the owner, Mo, said: "We believe it’s actually the world's hottest but the public can decide that.
"We add 72 different chilies to this curry so it cost us a lot more to make than to sell it.

"The chilies we use for this curry are from all around the world especially India and Bangladesh where my heritage start."

He added: "We do not encourage any customers to have this dish, they do on their own accord."
Daniel also apparently made a recovery after 30 minutes as Mo said it was just a 'temporary pain.'
