On top of costing a whopping $282,000,000, the world's highest bridge sits over 2,000 feet above sea level and its structure has left everyone online saying the same thing.

Constructed in just three years, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is found in the Guizhou province of China and happens to be the highest bridge on the planet.

Standing at 2,050 feet above sea level, the bridge is nearly 200 meters taller than the Empire State Building in New York and nine times bigger than San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.

So, if you're a little scared of heights, it's probably best you avoid this one.

The bridge remains closed at this time, but officials plan to open the monumental piece of construction for the general public in June this year.

China's Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge sits above the Beipan River, and will cut down the journey across the gorge from an hour to just a few minutes once it opens.

The bridge will connect the areas of Liuzhi and Anlong in the Guizhou province via a motorway, while officials hope the bridge, which stretches between two mountain tops and is under two miles in length, will attract new tourists to the region.

While it all sounds rather exciting, users on one particular Reddit thread have been saying the same thing about the bridge.

"I'm not even scared of heights but jesus that makes me feel uneasy just looking at it," one person commented.

"My knees wobble just looking at this. I hate open heights!" a second added, while a third remarked: "Right now, as I write this without the video in sight. Just imagining the concept of the idea of the video gives me vertigo."

Deputy director of the Guizhou Transport Department, Chen Jianlei, said: "The completion of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge will strengthen economic ties between Guiyang, Anshun and Qianxinan, fostering regional economic integration."

Meanwhile, politician Zhang Shenglin added: "This super project spanning the 'Earth's crack' will showcase China's engineering capabilities and boost Guizhou's goal of becoming a world-class tourist destination.

"Its steel trusses weigh about 22,000 metric tons - the equivalent of three Eiffel Towers - and were installed in just two months."

There are also plans to set up facilities for extreme sports at the bottom of the canyon once the bridge project is concluded, so it really could be the place to be for adventurers and tourists alike.
