Eerie drone footage of North Korea has viewers in agreement about one thing after man flies it in from China

The photos were captured by one brave Reddit user

People have been left creeped out after someone shared what they claim are images of North Korea captured from a drone.

The country is notorious for its secrecy, with tourists only being allowed in with special permission from the government and under strict supervision.

You can legally catch a glimpse of North Korea from special Demilitarized Zones bordering South Korea - or maybe a Starbucks is more your style?

But one social media user decided to take matters into their own hands, by flying a drone over the border from China.

They posted photos and videos from the daring jaunt to Reddit, which have since gone viral with 145k upvotes.

Among the images shot by the drone are ones of a large building which is decorated with pictures of Kim Il-sung, the founder of North Korea, as well as Kim Jong-il.

The streets are also very empty, with no motorists and few pedestrians, though it's also not clear what time the footage was taken.

In some of the clips, people can even be seen on the ground looking up and pointing at the drone as it flies over.

And fellow Reddit users certainly had a few thoughts about the stunt.

One wrote: “Am I tripping or is there no street drainage at all? Definitely no traffic lights. Looks like a concrete model of a city."

A second said: "It’s interesting how the uncanny valley exists for inanimate things as well. This is close enough to being an actual city that it’s disturbing."

A third posted: "Yesss but barely any cars or people. No trash anywhere. It's so bizarre to look at it."

But there was still one thing that a lot of people thought about the images, and that was that the person who piloted the drone could definitely get into a lot of trouble.

Not only that, that it had been a very dangerous thing to do.

There were also some who were left perplexed as to how easily he had managed to fly the drone over the border.

One person joked: "Guy singlehandedly invaded N. Korea."

A second observed: “If this random dude with a drone from a store can this easily spy on North Korea, imagine the intel the US has.

“US intelligence are probably like 'wait s***, we spent hundreds of millions on spy satellites and could have just used a f****** $500 drone?'"

Someone else warned: “Causing an international incident as a goof,” while another said: “That seems like a dangerous game."

Others observed that the relationship between China and North Korea, which is cordial, could mean that it was unlikely to result in any serious consequences even if the drone had been shot down.
