Fyre Festival 2 has been announced by organiser Billy McFarland, following his release from prison... and they’re not cheap.

McFarland was the co-founder of the now-infamous Fyre Festival, which was held in 2017 before being called off due to a whole storm of logistical issues... not least a severe lack of water, despite Andy King’s best offers.

Although McFarlane had hoped to become a successful entrepreneur off the back of the luxury event, the failed festival and the backlash that followed has led to McFarland's name being synonymous with a styrofoam plate of cheese and bread.

But it was more than just his reputation that suffered, as he was eventually sentenced to six years in prison on fraud charges, and was ordered to cough up $26 million (£23m) over the Fyre Festival mess.

He was released early in May 2022, and went on to launch a new Bahamas-based treasure hunt startup called PYRT.

But now the fraudster is reviving the Fyre brand, having announced that a follow-up festival is not only in the works, but that tickets are already on sale.

Posting about the new event on social media, McFarlane wrote: “FYRE Festival 2 Pre-Sale is LIVE.”

He explained how he has plans to also roll the brand out into a documentary and a Broadway musical.

McFarlane said: “What’s up, guys? This is a big day, because as of right now Fyre Festival 2 tickets are officially on sale.

“It has been the absolute wildest journey to get here, and it really all started during the seven-month stint in solitary confinement.

“I wrote out this 50-page plan of how it would take this overall interest and demand in Fyre, and how it would take my ability to bring people from around the world together and make the impossible happen, how I would find the best partners in the world to allow me to be me while executing Fyre’s vision to the highest level.”

He continued: “In my first year, I partnered with one of the biggest and best TV companies in the world to produce a documentary called After the Fire.

“I’ve also worked with one of the biggest production companies to sign a deal to produce Fyre Festival: The Broadway Musical.”

Billy McFarland said the festival is due to take place next year.

As for the festival, that’s due to take place at the end of next year, and will be held in the Caribbean once again.

“And finally, today we are announcing Fyre Festival 2,” McFarlane said.

“We spoke to people as far away as the Middle East and South America, and ultimately we decided that Fyre Festival 2 is coming back to the Caribbean.

“We are targeting Fyre Festival 2 for the end of next year, and in the meantime, we’ll be doing pop-ups and events across the world.

“Guys, this is your chance to get in. This is everything I’ve been working towards. Let’s f**king go.”

The first batch of tickets are already on sale, costing $499 for the first 100 sold.

After this, the price will increase in increments from $799 up to $7,999, depending on when you buy them.
