Kim Jong Un has reportedly issued a bizarre order after news broke that women in North Korea are somehow undergoing breast augmentation surgeries.

Calling it an ‘unsocialist act’, the country is allegedly using extreme measures to weed out the people who have been getting them.

This comes after a South Korean news outlet called Daily NK claimed a person who is said to have performed the surgery was on trial with two women who allegedly underwent the procedure.

As it’s illegal in North Korea to have breast enhancements, it's been reported that those who are caught for the offence could be sent to labor camps.

According to the outlet, the silicone implants were smuggled in from China by the ‘doctor’, who also apparently dropped out of medical school.

Daily NK reports that they were allegedly using the silicone in a procedure at their home when they were caught red-handed.

The outlet alleges a source said: “In mid-September, at the cultural hall in the central district of Sariwon, a public trial was held for a doctor who had performed illegal breast surgery and for women who received the operations.”

The trial was said to have heard how medical tools, cash and silicone were shown as evidence, and that the woman had only wanted to ‘improve their figure’ through the surgery.

The prosecutor accused the women of making a ‘capitalist’ choice, where they allegedly said: “Women living in a socialist system have been corrupted by bourgeois customs and have committed rotten capitalist acts.”

A source also told Daily NK: “Among the residents who watched the trial, there were voices of criticism such as ‘doctors do all kinds of things for money,’ but at the same time, there were also sympathetic comments such as ‘Isn't he doing such things because he has no way to make a living?’”

Because of this scandal, North Korea has allegedly been using undercover agents and neighborhood patrols to ‘catch’ people who are either having the surgery or are performing them.

In fact, according to the outlet, the Security Bureau has physically examined women who had the procedure to confirm their breasts contained implants.

It was reportedly announced at the trial that women will undergo an investigation to see if they too have taken part in the procedure, meaning that women all over North Korea could be physically checked.

This issue comes after the Ministry of Social Security allegedly released a directive due to a rise in cosmetic procedures, including double-eyelid surgery which is popular in countries with monolid features, such as South Korea.

Double-eyelid surgery involves making an incision and stitches that would split the eyelid in two, allowing it to crease.

A message was released by the ministry stating that ‘women in the socialist system are being tainted by bourgeois ideology and are engaging in all kinds of decadent acts’.

Daily NK reported a source claimed that since then, ‘strike teams have already been deployed in central districts of Pyongyang and are operating in plain clothes’.

They added: “Women or private doctors caught could face criminal punishment, including being sent to labor camps, on charges of anti-socialism.”
